It's Mila's Time to Shine As She Steps Out From Portman's Shadow

Actress is set to star in Oz, her first move away from her Black Swan costar

From her days on That's '70s Show to her breathtaking, badass performance in Black Swan, Mila Kunis has evolved into quite the leading lady. 

Trust, Mila is a rising star, and we can't wait to see her palpable chemistry with J.T. in her upcoming movie, Friends With Benefits.   

But what is the coincidental thread in Mila's career choices?

And why is her newest role, playing a witch in Oz: The Great and Powerful, so different from the rest?

That thread is Natalie Portman, and for the first time, Mila is stepping out from the Oscar-winner's shadow—and we love her for it.

While everyone did talk about how fabulous and sexy Kunis was in Black Swan, Natalie ultimately took home the hardware. Kunis didn't receive an Academy Award nomination and remained in the background as Natalie took the press for her pregnancy and now controversial, Oscar win. 

Mila's next move after the box office hit is starring alongside Justin Timberlake in Friends With Benefits, a role that has everyone itching for a J.T.-Mila hookup. 

But while the chemistry between Justin and Mila has everyone talking, seems that people failed to notice just how similar this movie is to Natalie's recent flick, No Strings Attached.

The plot lines are nearly identical, as both Nat and Mila play leading ladies looking for casual sex with their close friends, Ashton Kutcher in Portman's case. 

And while we can't wait to see Mila and Justin as a deliciously sexy duo, we must admit we are most excited for Mila's newest film, Oz: The Great and Powerful. 

According to Variety.com, Mila is set to play Theodora, one of the three witches in the prequel to The Wizard of Oz. She will star opposite James Franco, another hottie who will definitely bring the chemistry, and the film is produced by Joe Roth, one of the minds behind Alice in Wonderland. 

Timberlake aside, we think this role is phenom for Mila's career. The actress is red-hot, and she doesn't need to follow Portman's professional choices!
