Hey, James Franco, Just Keep Doing What You're Doing, 'Kay?

Franco's moves are weird, yes, but we kinda dig it

Saturday's Bitch-Back got us thinking more about James Franco. What with his recent odd career choices like accepting multi-episode deal with General Hospital and enrolling in Queer Cinema at NYU, you'd think J.F. would be right up our making-fun-of alley. While he appears to be a walking Awful Truth target right now, we don't like easy bitch-bait.

It's easy to look at the Golden Globe winner and expect him to go down the Leonardo DiCaprio path. You know, dump his longtime nonfamous girlfriend and only date the best models around. Pick and choose his projects based on award possibilities or box-office numbers.

Well, Franco is hardly that predictable:

The recent decisions Franco's made, not only career-wise but privately as well, takes guts.

He's got balls and is not afraid to go his own way. For the most part, James follows his own gut instinct and not what his suit-mouths tell him to do. It's why we totally dig him!

Are we going to watch General Hospital? No. But we admire that J.F. just does what he wants. Even going back to NYU to do what he loves—acting—says a whole lot to us about who he is. Once you have his caliber of looks and fame it's easy to pimp yourself out and hit every red carpet soiree in town, but J.F. doesn't fall into that category.

So let's let the guy experiment a bit. He's already going to be in one of the biggest movies of next year (Eat, Pray, Love), and we like that he doesn't fit the cookie-cutter Hollywood leading man mold and goes for the unusual jobs, and relationships, too.
