Offensive comments slide right off Khloé Kardashian, just like the pounds

Hello my dolls at E! Online! It's your dear friend Khloé Kardashian, and this is the first of a few guest blogs I will be doing here at the Awful Truth.

Given the name of this column, the Awful Truth, I thought a good topic for me to discuss is how to deal with haters who feel the need to post offensive things on blogs and social networks...

As someone who's in the public eye, I deal with haters pretty regularly, whether it's on gossip sites, or even my own blog KhloeK.com. Sometimes it can be hurtful, but the majority of the time I just laugh at the fact that these people spend so much time bashing me, especially on my own site.

For instance, there's this one person on Twitter who hates me—he only writes mean things, but he's literally obsessed with me! It's clear from his tweets that he watches my shows and follows my life pretty closely, yet he only says awful things about me. This is one hater situation that my sisters and I find absolutely hilarious. Clearly, I'm his guilty pleasure. LOL.

I have a very thick skin. I do what I want and I try not to let people bother me, but of course it's easier said than done. I do get offended when people make comments to me about race, because I don't judge people by the color of their skin or the way they look. People can be so closed-minded. I have no tolerance for comments like that and I have no problem calling them out.

And then there's my weight. People looooove to comment about my weight and tell me I'm not as tiny as my sisters. I didn't lose weight because people were calling me "fat." I did it when I was good and ready, because I wanted to. And whenever I read a comment from someone calling me a "whale," or saying something derogatory about the way I look, all I have to do is remind myself that they're hiding behind their computers spending hours a day reading up on my life and probably weigh 700 pounds themselves.

People have said a lot of things about me, but I have never let it bring me down.  I'm going to curse if I want to curse, I'm going to wear what I want to wear and I'm going to say what I want to say.  If you don't like it, then don't watch my show and don't come to my site, got it?

People can have their opinions about me, but at least stand by them and don't pretend that you like me if you meet me face to face.

Being hated just comes with the territory of being on TV and having a well-known family. I find that the best way to deal with it is by having a good laugh and moving on. But if someone says something that truly pisses me off, I have no qualms using my blog to address them. Not all people in the spotlight have their own personal place to respond to this type of criticism. I fortunately do, and I won't hold back just because it might stir up a negative story in the media. Not only have I talked back to haters across the country, but I also had enough confidence in myself to stand up to Donald Trump when he treated me unfairly on national television.

I'm sure all of you reading this have had to deal with your own haters in the past, online or in person, just always remember that the people putting you down are usually doing so to make themselves feel better. You know who you are and be proud of that! If someone says something negative about you, it usually stems from jealousy and their own insecurities. Jealousy is a very sad and lonely disease, and I hope those who suffer from it get better very soon—being happy for people is so much easier than finding the energy to hate them.  Love who you are!

I do.
