Michael Jackson Death-Site Scene: Weird

The mansion where Michael Jackson spent his last hours, 100 N. Carolwood Dr. in Los Angeles, was a sad reflection of the legend's demise in his latter years:

There were far more reporters, cops and irritated neighbors causing a stink than any bereaved fans there this morning when I stopped by. And for a man who was globally worshipped by millions for so many years, it seemed oddly out of whack.

There was a chick in her black chauffeured Lincoln screaming at the Starline tour bus blocking her limousine's exit. She caused far more of a ruckus than any grieving fan. In fact, none of the couple of dozen Jackson followers who were respectfully gathered, flowers in hand, were even shedding a tear. At least not when I was there.

I asked one from Brazil what she missed most about Michael:

"His music," she said on the heavily tree-lined street. "Yeah, his music," echoed her friend.

"I want to be just like him," said yet another young gal in the group, which was together holding a large placard that read, "We're praying for you, Michael."

"Get out of my way," snapped a blonde with a bun sitting in the backseat of her limo, right next the adoring fans, who were startled by the neighbor's bitchiness. Nearby, myriad camera crews from Fox, ABC, German television, etc., recorded the bizarre scene.

Far more fans are gathered at such places as the Jackson family compound in Encino and Jackson's star on Hollywood Boulevard. Just seems awfully sad to me that the place where Jackson essentially left this Earth was tended to by only a couple of idolizers, a pack of wretched next-door neighbors and media types like yours truly.
