Star Trek's Uhura: Ready to Take Her Shirt Off Again
Beam us up, Scotty!
Zoe Saldana says she's on board to start filming the sequel to this summer's blockbuster megahit Star Trek.
"We're working on it," Saldana, who plays Uhura in director J.J. Abrams' revived sci-fi franchise, tells me. "They were calling to see where we were going to be and how my schedule is next year."
She smiled, "Just that was worth me doing a cartwheel when I got the phone call, because I cannot wait to put on the suit and go back to the Enterprise, take my shirt off and be with all those yummy guys."
For those who can't wait that long for more Saldana, we've got Avatar coming up. Yes, she's seen director James Cameron's much anticipated flick, in which she stars as Neytiri…
Chris Pine: Better Than Baldwin, Ford and Affleck?

Jack Ryan is coming back, and he's going to look a lot like Chris Pine.
The actor, fresh off the success (and bloopers) of the Star Trek reboot, is in talks to take over the role of the CIA hero of Tom Clancy's novels, according to Variety.
On film, the character was first played by Alec Baldwin in 1990's The Hunt for Red October, then Harrison Ford for 1992's Patriot Games and 1994's Clear and Present Danger and finally Ben Affleck in 2002's The Sum of All Fears.
Pine proved he could reinvent an iconic role like Captain James T. Kirk in Star Trek, so do you think he has what it takes to follow in the footsteps of these three talented actors? Sound off!

Star Trek Boldly Goes for Bloopers
Think Star Trek is all serious emoting about space stuff?
Well, check out this gag reel for the recent reboot. We haven't laughed this loud since William Shatner's version of "Mr. Tambourine Man."
The well edited, fast-paced clip, which is presumably set to appear on the November DVD release, shows stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Eric Bana, Leonard Nimoy, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg and even rhythm-crazy director J.J. Abrams caught in the forbidden zone of comic screwups, crazy accents and synchronized dance moves.
We already loved the movie. And now, well, we love it a little bit more.

Newlywed Game Goes Gay With Takei
GSN is boldly going where no Newlywed Game has gone before.
Star Trek's George Takei, he of the mean Jon Gosselin impression, and partner Brad Altman will be the first same-sex couple ever to participate in the game show when the cable net airs a celebrity edition later this season.
So anyone interested in knowing the weirdest place they've "made whoopee," be sure to set your TiVos.
The couple recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of their marriage but have been together for 22 years.
Joining them in the celebrity editions of the show this year will be Dancing with the Stars pros Edyta Sliwinska and Alec Mazo; Christopher Knight and Adrianne Curry; Survivor's Jonny Fairplay and his America's Next Top Model wife, Michelle Deighton; and the Real Housewives of Orange County's Lauri Waring and George Peterson.
The Takei show, which has yet to be taped with new host Carnie Wilson, is expected to air sometime in October.

Zachary Quinto: Gunning for Some Laughs
Zachary Quinto gives a whole new meaning to the ol' pickup line, "Is that a gun in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"
In a new Funny or Die video, Hostage: A Love Story, the Heroes and Star Trek star plays a pistol-packing burglar who ends up falling in love with a woman (Rachael Harris) he takes captive during a botched robbery.
As we first reported, Quinto had a real-life run-in with police when he was shooting the short at L.A.'s Kiss My Bundt Bakery...

Heroes Star Zachary Quinto's Run-In With the Cops
If Zachary Quinto isn't careful he'll wind up on America's Most Wanted one day.
The Star Trek star found himself answering to cops recently while filming an upcoming Funny or Die video at L.A. bakery Kiss My Bundt.
In the comedy bit, he plays a pistol-wielding robber.
"When someone saw Zach hold up a real gun and scream, 'This is a goddamn hold up!' they called the police," Bundt owner Chrysta Wilson tells us.
And get this, the cops were called a second time during another take of the same scene.
Wilson said she's not surprised the make-believe drama appeared to be real...
Star Trek's Simon Pegg Beams Up Baby
Simon Pegg is boldly going where many a man has gone before—diaper duty.
The Star Trek star and his wife, Maureen McCann, have welcomed their first child, a baby girl. No further details—birth date, vital stats, etc.—were immediately released.
The British comic actor, 39, and his missus tied the knot in July 2005, a year after he shot to fame battling flesh-eating zombies in Shaun of the Dead. He's currently in theaters playing the young Scotty in Star Trek.
Pegg (who happens to be the godfather of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's 5-year-old daughter, Apple) will next be starring in Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn.

Audrina Patridge: New Show to Include "Everything"
If Audrina Patridge is getting it on with Star Trek hottie Chris Pine, might we see some of it on her upcoming reality show?
The Hills starlet told me the other day at the MTV Movie Awards that the cameras will certainly capture some lovin'. Let's just hope Mr. Pine is around once shooting begins.
"There's always romance," she said. "We haven't started filming it yet, but it will be mostly my life. I'm really opening up in everything that I have going on in my life right now—everything."
Her younger brother Mark also promises his sister will reveal more than ever...
Zachary Quinto: Milk Me Up, Scotty!
Zachary Quinto's got milk—and then some!
In a new video portrait by artist Tyler Shields, we see the Heroes and Star Trek star getting soaked by what looks like lots and lots of milk.
Is it any wonder the piece has some people thinking about kinky porn...?
George Takei: Gay Marriage Fight Is Not Over
Proposition 8 may have been upheld by the courts today, but George Takei is hopeful it won't be forever.
The Star Trek star, who married longtime love Brad Altman on Sept. 14, 2008, predicts it will take another ballot initiative to once again allow gay marriage in California.
"I am confident that if we go through this again, we will ultimately prevail and our [State] Supreme Court will go into the dust of history," Takei told me earlier today.
But what about the court's declaration that same-sex unions that took place before the passage of Prop 8 are still valid?
Angels & Demons, Star Trek Win; Jennifer Aniston Flick Loses
Tom Hanks' movie got it done. Jennifer Aniston's didn't. And Star Trek made things very interesting.
Hanks' Angels & Demons managed to hold off a tenacious Trek for a No. 1 finish at the weekend box office, grossing $48 million to Captain Kirk and company's $43 million, per studio estimates today.
Aniston's new indie comedy Management, meanwhile, fizzled in limited release, averaging just $1,785 from each of its screens.
