Ay, Caramba! Marge Simpson Gets Nude for Playboy
Who knew Marge Simpson was such a sex kitten?
Sources confirm that the ambiguously aged, iconic cartoon TV mama will appear—naked!—on the November cover of Playboy magazine...
Anne Hathaway Gets Animated About The Simpsons
Oscar-nominated actress and self-declared geek Anne Hathaway guest stars on one of her favorite shows, The Simpsons, this Sunday. She plays Bart Simpson's "older" girlfriend, which she's superexcited about. And when Anne is this excited, that means lots and lots of talking.
The Simpsons Get Stamped
The Simpsons have already left their stamp on pop culture—now they're doing the same for your mail.
The U.S. Postal Service today announced plans to immortalize the first family of Springfield in a series of 44-cent first-class stamps that will be available for preview online beginning April 9. At the same time, a sale date will also be announced.
Of the 50,000 stamp suggestions made to the U.S. Postal Service each year, just 20 make it into production.
Talk about taking a licking and keeping on sticking.
The commemorative stamps will feature Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie (sorry, Flanders), and have been designed by the Simpsons mastermind himself, Matt Groening. The stamps come as the show celebrates its 20th season with a yearlong celebration that is set to culminate on Jan. 14, 2010.
Update
Simpsons Surpasses Another Milestone
Here's some news that's sure to make yellow-hued fans tickled pink: Fox has renewed The Simpsons for two more historic and satiric seasons, bringing its overall total to a record-breaking 22.
Sorry, Gunsmoke.
The network has requested 44 more episodes, bringing the four-fingered family's total to a whopping 493.
However, while the renewal means The Simpsons has topped Gunsmoke's 20-year run as the longest-running prime-time entertainment series, Springfield's finest have a way to go before besting the western's episode count. Gunsmoke played for an astonishing 635 episodes.
To mark their longevity, Matt Groening & Co. last month launched "Best. 20 Years. Ever.," a yearlong celebration leading up to Jan. 14, 2010, the two-decade anniversary of the 'toon's debut. Woo-hoo!

Bart Simpson's Voice Speaks for Scientology
The Simpsons has never been one to shy away from poking fun at organized Judeo-Christian religions. But not because Springfield's first family is aspiring to thetan level seven.
Show producers have denied any involvement with a Scientology-promoting voice mail recorded by Nancy Cartwright, who has provided the voice of Bart Simpson for 20 years, in which she advertises her current auditing level—new OT VII—and invites recipients of the message to the church's Flag World Tour event Jan. 31 in Hollywood, at which Cartwright is scheduled to speak.
But while her show might not be connected to the call, she sure didn't mind connecting her call to the show. The message begins with her saying, "Yo, what's happenin' man, this is Bart Simpson. Haha. Just kidding, don't hang up, this is Nancy Cartwright."
The Simpsons Draw From Seth Rogen
Chances are, Seth Rogen will be supergood on The Simpsons.
The funnyman-of-the-hour has penned an episode of the Fox sitcom, in which he will provide the featured guest voice, E! News confirmed Friday.
"He wrote an episode we'll be reading soon, where Comic Book Guy creates a superhero comic which then gets made into a feature film," said series creator Matt Groening. "Homer plays the lead and, to slim down, Seth Rogen will play his personal trainer."
Which probably means no munchies for Rogen's character...but we're sure the Pineapple Express star and Superbad coscribe has plenty more to offer, even when smoke isn't getting in his googly, animated eyes.
Next up for Rogen in the flesh is the comedy Observe and Report, in which he plays a mall cop (Look out, Kevin James!) who takes on the real police in a misguided—but surely funny—turf war.
Simpsons Comes Across—and Down!—on Sunday
Two favorite Sunday traditions, together at last!
While they're known for having a not-always-obvious theme running through the ups and downs, the next New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle will feature a more familiar thread than usual.
[Cue theme music] "The Simpsons..."
America's first cartoon family trades favors with the New York Times this weekend, when the Sunday magazine's infamous crossword will boast a Simpsons theme and puzzle editor Will Shortz and noted crossword creator Merl Reagle will lend their voices to that evening's episode, "Homer and Lisa Exchange Cross Words."
D'oh! Simpsons Under Fire for Gay Crack
If one gay-rights group has its way, Nelson Muntz will be writing "I will not be homophobic" on Mrs. Krabappel's schoolhouse chalkboard.
Bart Simpson's cartoon nemesis is being blasted for his use of the schoolyard taunt "that's so gay" while bullying resident nerd Milhouse Van Houten in The Simpsons' annual Halloween episode airing last Sunday.
But the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network says the remark is nothing to laugh at.
"Many people say gay without even realizing what they're saying is bad,'" GLSEN spokesman Daryl Presgraves tells E! News.
The Simpsons Get Into Dodge
Homer Simpson meet Matt Dillon. No, not that Matt Dillon.
Come Sunday, The Simpsons turns 20 seasons old, thereby tying Gunsmoke as the longest-running comedy or drama series in TV history.
Don't think this fact has escaped the powers that be in Springfield.
"You know, I hate to admit it," Simpsons executive producer Al Jean told reporters in a press-conference call this week. "We actually do count episodes."
As such, Jean doesn't need to be told that The Simpsons, standing at Episode No. 420 going into Sunday's season premiere, has a ways to go to catch Gunsmoke in terms of sheer output of adventures. The Western, which came into the world as a radio drama, produced about 635 prime-time episodes between 1955 and 1975.
