Sarah Jessica Parker's Surrogate Stars in Snoops and the Boonies
Let's just say this doesn't look good for the defense.
The surrogate mom who gave birth in July to Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick's twin girls took center stage today in her own courtroom drama. Michelle Ross testified in the criminal trial of an Ohio lawman accused of orchestrating a break-in at her home to dig up dirt he could then sell to the tabloids.
Ross said she learned of the alleged scheme by Martins Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter from a paparazzo, who had come to town hoping to snag a picture of her while she was pregnant with the Sex and the City star's children.
She said she noticed someone had rifled through her belongings and, per the local WTOV-TV, some items were misplaced, including a plaster cast of her tummy when she was preggers with her own son, not Parker and Broderick's.
Ross, who refused to be videotaped or voice recorded while on the stand, also told the jury that ultrasound pictures and documents with tax information had disappeared.

Trial Starts for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick's Suspected Surrogate Snooper
UPDATE: The special prosecutor appointed to the case, T. Shawn Hervey, just announced that the surrogate mom is on the government's witness list and will testify against Carpenter, as will two celebrity photographers. Although her identity has hardly been a secret, Hervey today publicly named Michelle Ross as the surrogate who was allegedly targeted by the plaintiff.

Sex and the city? Check. Now it's time for justice in the boonies.
Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick will be carefully monitoring the goings-on in an Ohio courtroom this week as the trial unfolds involving a local lawman accused of masterminding a break-in at the home of the surrogate carrying the A-listers' twins to dig up dirt on the celeb twosome for the tabloids.
Jury selection kicked off today in the case of Martins Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter, 40. He's facing multiple felonies, among them burglary and receiving stolen property, and has been suspended without pay pending the trial's outcome at the Belmont County Common Pleas Court.
Sex Talk With Miley Cyrus and...Bette Midler?
Talk about a quickie.
Miley Cyrus admits she didn't have to work too hard for her cameo in the upcoming Sex and the City movie sequel.
"I shot for like an hour and a half, and I was done," Cyrus told Ryan Seacrest this morning on his KIIS-FM morning radio show. "It was like the best job I'd ever been on."
Cyrus appears as herself in a scene in which she and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) wear the same dress to a red carpet event.
"It was a total dream come true," the Hannah Montana star gushed. "It was so cool. Working with Kim was a really cool. And Sarah Jessica Parker was like the nicest person in the world."
And speaking of celebrity cameos in SATC 2…
Case of Sarah Jessica Parker's Snooped-On Surrogate Gets Court Date
Forget Sex and the City. This Sarah Jessica Parker sequel is playing in the boonies.
A trial date has been set for two Ohio police chiefs accused of orchestrating a break-in at the home of the surrogate for the actress and hubby Matthew Broderick shortly before she gave birth in June to the couple's twin girls.
First up, Martins Ferry Chief Barry Carpenter will face a jury beginning Nov. 16. Bridgeport Chief Chad Dojack goes on trial Jan. 12. Both cases will be held at the Belmont County Common Pleas Court.
The duo is facing a handful of felony counts for allegedly breaking into the residence along with Bruce Callarik, the son of Bridgeport's mayor, to collect dirt on Parker, Broderick and the surrogate, and sell it to the tabloids.
If convicted on all charges, Carpenter could face up to 21 years in the slammer, and Dojack up to 14. No word on Callarik's trial, but he's also facing a charge of complicity to receiving stolen property. All three men have pleaded not guilty.

Sex and the City Makes It Work With Tim Gunn
Carrie Bradshaw & Co. are getting an extra dose of fabulous in the upcoming Sex and the City flick.
I just got word that Tim Gunn is going to appear in the sequel.
A rep for Gunn confirms the cameo, which he's shooting in New York City right now!
No word yet on what the Project Runway guru will be doing in the film, but I'm told he's playing himself.
This wouldn't be the first time Gunn has been in business with Sarah Jessica Parker...

Sarah Jessica Parker: A Big Deal in Fashion?
Not that we need any proof of Sarah Jessica Parker's status as a true fashion icon, but we're hearing she's in talks for a major endorsement deal.
A source reports that the Sex and the City star may be the new face of revived American fashion house Halston.
We don't know if a recent sighting of Parker filming the SATC sequel has anything to do with the possible partnership, but…
Fashion Face-Off: Sex and the City 1980s Edition
While we eagerly await the Sex and the City sequel, we're enjoying these awesome shots of Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker filming scenes in some '80s flashback outfits.
Kim gets points for her huge, Dee Snyder-esque hairdo and bright red boots, while it looks like Sarah Jessica went for a Madonna-inspired look with her lace leggings and tutu.
We're not sure what Carrie Bradshaw would say about all this, but we want your two cents.
Who rocks the flashback fashion better: Kim or Sarah? Sound off below.

Gilles Marini: Not Coming Back for More Sex
It's a bit of a sad day here at E! Online.
We just got confirmation that it doesn't look like our favorite Frenchman, Gilles Marini, will be reprising his role as Samantha Jones' very well-endowed Malibu neighbor in the follow-up to the Sex and the City movie.
"As far as I know, he will not be in the sequel," Marini's rep says.
The much anticipated SATC 2 begins shooting in a couple of weeks or so.
Marini, 33, has made no secret of wanting to return…
We Audition for Sex and the City So You Don't Have To
Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, Charlotte and Breanne. It's got a nice ring to it, no?
A whole slew—and by slew, we mean thousands—of Sex and the City fifth-wheel wannabes lined up this sunny afternoon in New York City for the chance to be an extra in the series' movie sequel.
Yep, an open call for future scene-chewers made its way to the masses, and since it doesn't even require a SAG card, we made sure to give it our best. Sure, they were looking for "Fashion Models"—and this reporter is only 5 feet tall. They seek "Upscale Socialites" and we only watch them on Real Housewives and NYC Prep. They want "Professional Soccer Players" and we can ice-skate. They'd also like to see "Celebrity Types." We type about celebrities—does that count?
But we went anyway. From the fans and fashionistas we met in the line to the inevitable disappointment at the end of the road, we twittered the step-by-step (in rather old shoes, mind you) audition process right here @eonlineMovies.
Here's how it all went down...

Sarah Jessica Parker's Police Snoops Proclaim Innocence
The cops ain't copping to anything just yet.
Two Ohio police chiefs, along with the son of a local mayor (good luck with that reelection campaign) accused of conspiring to break into the home of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick's surrogate to steal and sell fodder to the tabloids pleaded not guilty across the board this morning.
All told, the men were arraigned on 10 felony charges for their allegedly snooping—and dare we say disgraceful—ways.
The trio turned themselves in to the Belmont County jail yesterday for "anticipatory processing" and were released shortly thereafter on their own recognizance.
No word if they cried like babies during their short stint in the slammer, but they might after hearing the sentences they could face…

Is Katie Holmes Ready for Sex?
Katie Holmes isn't having Sex after all.
Rumors that Mrs. Tom Cruise would be joining the cast of the Sex and the City movie sequel have officially been squashed.
"Totally fabricated story," Holmes' rep, Ina Treciokas, told E! News of the tall tale sprung by a British tabloid.
At least the buzzed part didn't involve her replacing Jennifer Hudson as Sarah Jessica Parker's lovestruck personal assistant or hooking up with Chris Noth's Mr. Big. Instead, the "fabricated" role was that of a high-powered businesswoman ready to go toe-to-toe with Kim Cattrall's Samantha Jones.
Given Katie's dance last week on So You Think You Can Dance, do you think she was ready to tango with the ladies who brunch?
