It was ladies' week in Hollywood (and related environs) as real stars like Rihanna and Mariah Carey opened up on TV about serious, emotional issues; celebish types like Kate Gosselin rehashed stories we already know, but with more tears; and nonentity (in Hollywood and related environs) Nicole Forrester talked about having a one-night stand with Fergie's man.

Hey, to each her own.

It's Sandra Bullock vs. Jesse James' Ex in Monster Custody Feud

Loading...

It's not quite the ultimate battle of good versus evil, but it'll do: America's Sweetheart is taking on a freshly jail-broken porn star in what's shaping up to be quite the headline-grabbing custody dispute.

The child in question is 5-year-old Sunny James, the daughter of Monster Garage host Jesse James and his trouble-plagued, sobriety-challenged, adult-film-star ex, Janine Lindemulder.

For the better part of the last year, James (with a massive maternal assist from wife Sandra Bullock) has had sole custody of the child, due primarily to the fact that Lindemulder has spent the past six months behind bars for tax evasion.

But now she's out and looking for a return stake in parental duties. And what better place to find that than Good Morning America?

"What would give her the right to take away my daughter?" Lindemulder said of Bullock, toward whom the majority of her ire seems directed. "This is my daughter. I'm the best mother I can be."

And while she admitted on the morning show that she's "absolutely made horrific choices in the past," she stresses that her life is currently back on track.

Though Bullock and James beg to differ.

Never Count Out Basterds—or Sandra Bullock

All About Steve, Sandra Bullock, Bradley Cooper

Sandra Bullock and Brad Pitt enjoyed what most movie stars don't: a happy Labor Day.

During Hollywood's weakest long weekend of the year, Bullock managed a respectable $14 million Friday-Monday debut for the critically trashed All About Steve, while Pitt's Inglourious Basterds marched toward $100 million with a $15 million four-day take.

The Final Destination, last weekend's 3-D-boosted champ, was this weekend's champ, too, with $15.4 million, Exhibitor Relations reported.

Rate-a-Trailer: Is Bullock's Blind Side in Your Sights?

Loading...

Sandra Bullock is changing things up. And we're not just referring to the blond 'do she sports in the based-on-a-true-story film The Blind Side.

On the heels of such lighthearted fare as The Proposal and the soon-to-be-released comedy All About Steve, the actress gets way more serious. Come November, she's the matriarch of a wealthy family that takes in a homeless teen named Michael Oher, who gradually realizes he has a gift for the gridiron.

Of course, their diverse backgrounds bring the requisite challenges that he and his new loved ones are forced to overcome, leading to the inevitable pulling of moviegoers' heartstrings. But we're cool with that.

So what say you? Are you ready to tackle such drama, or will you simply turn a blind eye to The Blind Side?

A Winning Proposal From Sandra Bullock

The Proposal, Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds Walt Disney Pictures

The way The Hangover was going, Sandra Bullock would need the biggest opening of her career—by a lot—in order to end the Vegas comedy's two-week reign of debauchery atop the box office.

Done.

The Bullock romantic comedy, The Proposal, costarring Ryan Reynolds, scored an estimated $34.1 million from Friday to Sunday, beating The Hangover ($26.9 million) and another holdover not soon to be confused for a pushover: Up ($21.3 million).

The new Jack Black-Michael Cera comedy Year One took the bite out of bad buzz with a respectable $20.2 million debut.

Drilling down into the numbers:

Review: The Proposal Works, but Not Without a Hitch

The Proposal, Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds Walt Disney Pictures

Review in a Hurry: Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds get naked. Need any other reason to see this cinematic matrimony of The Devil Wears Prada and Meet the Parents? Sweet, silly Proposal practically gets on bended knee and begs you to engage, so you might as well say "I do."

Sandra Bullock: Getting Naked With a "Rock Hard" Ryan

More from Marc Malkin

Sandra Bullock is one lucky lady. In The Proposal, her new romantic comedy in which she plays a wretched book publisher who blackmails her assistant into marrying her, Bullock got to be very naked with Ryan Reynolds.

How was it? "Rock hard," she says.

Oh, really?

Read on to find out what Ms. Bullock told me about her boobs and butt, her hubby of four years, Jesse James, and what it felt like going skin-to-skin with Mr. Reynolds.

Ryan Reynolds Gets Bitch-Slapped by Sandra Bullock

Poor Ryan Reynolds. Little did the actor know what he was getting into when he signed on to costar in The Proposal opposite Sandra Bullock and Betty White.

As the video reveals, Brian, er, Ryan, was clearly unprepared for the verbal—and even physical—abuse that was directed at him by way of America's sweetheart and one national treasure.

So if you ever happen to find yourself on a set someday with either of these two ladies, it's probably best that you simply get that cup of coffee.

HSM3 Dominates, Miley Cries at Slimy Kids' Choice Awards

Miley Cyrus Jason DeCrow/AP Images for Nickelodeon

It wouldn't be an awards show if a winner didn't cry.

While the 22nd Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards had few of the same ingredients of an Oscars or Grammys telecast, Miley Cyrus made sure the tradition stayed alive.

After shouldering losses for everything else with her name attached—Selena Gomez took the slimefest's Favorite TV Actress gong and iCarly swiped Favorite TV Show out from underneath Hannah Montana—the starlet scored a win for Favorite Female Singer. Despite having taken home the orange Blimp in the same category last year, she got surprisingly choked up.

"I really thought I was going to lose, so thank you, guys," she wept.

Those High School Musical kids—Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale and Corbin Bleu, to be precise—were considerably more cheerful. The graduating class of East High took home one of the event's highest honors, Favorite Movie, beating out the likes of Iron Man and The Dark Knight. High School Musical 3: Senior Year's prom queen, Hudgens, also took home Favorite Female Movie Star.

Sadly, the Wildcats, as well as the "Climb" singer, managed to walk away from the Pauley Pavilion on UCLA's campus completely slime-free. Many others were not so lucky...

Diane, Michelle, Sandra & Mandy Feeling Very Un-PC

Michelle Pfeiffer, Mandy Moore, Sandra Bullock, Diane Keaton Lisa O'Connor/ZUMAPress.com; Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images; Bryan Bedder/Getty Images

Diane Keaton, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sandra Bullock and Mandy Moore. Sounds like a pretty good lineup for another stab at a remake of The Women.

But alas, the A-listers have only teamed up for a lawsuit.

The comely quartet have sued CompUSA, Systemax, TigerDirect and several other electronics-peddling corporations for using their images, which carry "substantial commercial value," in online advertisements without the actresses' permission. (View the complaint.)

Bullock's Stalker Avoids Big House

Sandra Bullock, Marcia Valentine Lisa O'Connor/ZumaPress.com, Orange County Sheriff's Dept.

Sandra Bullock should be stalker-free, for at least the next three years.

The woman who pleaded guilty to stalking the Premonition star—and who, at one point, even attempted to run down the actress' Monster Garage hubby, Jesse James—has managed to avoid any jail time for her misdirected enthusiasm and instead has been placed on three years' probation.

Marcia Valentine, a 47-year-old dental assistant, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor stalking of the actress back on Nov. 5. An additional felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon (i.e., her car) was dropped.

Sandra Smasher Sentenced to Probation

Sandra Bullock, Jesse James Eric Charbonneau/WireImage.com

No harm, big foul.

Lucile Gatchell, the woman whose car struck a vehicle that happened to contain Sandra Bullock and husband Jesse James, pleaded guilty Tuesday to driving under the influence and the lesser charge of failing to stay within marked lanes.

The 64-year-old entered the guilty plea in Massachusetts' Gloucester District Court, an about-face from the not guilty plea she entered at last month's arraignment.

Judge Joseph Jennings placed Gatchell on probation for one year, suspended her license for a period of 60 days and ordered her to complete an alcohol-safety program.

On April 18, Gatchell's station wagon jumped the center median and hit head-on an SUV driven by the star couple. Amazingly, no injuries resulted from the crash.

Bullock and her Monster Garage hubby were in Gloucester while the actress filmed The Proposal, a new romantic comedy with Ryan Reynolds. Neither was present for yesterday's hearing.

Frankly, Scarlett... You look damn amazing. Ryan Reynolds' other half gives good face at a Mango clothing party in Madrid
