Are Samantha Who?'s Todd and Sam the New MerDer?
Are Todd (Barry Watson) and Samantha (Christina Applegate) the next great TV will-they-or-won't-they couple? Christina herself seems to think so, and we couldn't agree more. When Samantha Who? returns to ABC this Thursday, March 26, their relationship will be the comedy's leading storyline. (Yay!)
When asked if this popular TV couple/noncouple will finally get it together, Christina tells us: "I don't know. I think every show has a great Sam and Diane* dynamic. [Note to those of you born after 1990: Sam and Diane is a Cheers reference.] You've got the Meredith and the Dr. McHottie or whatever. People who just can't seem to get it together, and it seems to work."
It makes no diff to Ms. Applegate. She's just over the moon to be working with Barry. "As long as I get to continue to do lots of scenes with Barry Watson," she says, "then I don't care what capacity it is, whether we're fighting or we're in love. He's my really good friend, and I absolutely enjoy working with him."

A Gift From the Lost Gods: Daniel Dae Kim Is Here!

Exclusive: Mary-Kate Olsen Comes to ABC's Samantha Who?
"She started today, and she's terrific."
That's the word from a reliable Samantha Who? insider on the show's latest guest star: Mary-Kate Olsen.
After a tip-off from on-set sources, ABC has just confirmed that Mary-Kate is shooting an episode of the divine, good-versus-evil comedy this week, playing a character whom Samantha (Christina Applegate) tries to "save." (Score one for Good Sam.)
I'm told M.K. is only slated to do one episode (airing this fall), and the powers that be are very happy with her performance so far.
Of course, if you saw Mary-Kate tormenting Silas on Weeds last season, you know the girl has serious comedy chops. (Word is she also did some show with a guy named "Uncle Jesse"? Doesn't ring a bell.)
And given the recent news that James Yummer, er, Tupper will also appear in the second season, only one question remains: Is it fall yet?! Holler with your Sam Who? anticipation below.
Barry Watson on the Return of Samantha Who?
It's back!
Tonight, ABC's Samantha Who? returns to the tube with an all-new episode that is one of the series’ best so far. Not only do we get some good, quality Sam (Christina Applegate) and Todd (Barry Watson) time, but the writers make good use of the girls who often steal the show: Jean Smart (Regina) and Melissa McCarthy (Dena).
To celebrate, I checked in with Barry, who tells me the cast and crew are relieved to be back after the strike put the freshman hit in a holding pattern. “I feel like we were just starting to get some momentum going when everything had to stop," he said. "But things run so smoothly on this show. Everyone’s having a great time. Except for Jean. She and I just don’t get along. They have to separate us during table reads.”
Oh, if only that were true! Then SW could also be a scandalous reality series. But for better or worse, Barry was only joking and said he's hoping to branch out and work with some of the rest of the cast. “I think there is an effort to get Todd in some scenes with Jean and Kevin [Dunn] later this season, and hopefully I’ll get to spend time with the doorman too, since he does stand right outside my building.”
And is there hope for young Todd and his ex, Sam, now that he’s got a new lady, played by Lost’s Kiele Sanchez? “I think so,” said Barry. “More so now that Sam is good, instead of the [awful person she was pre-amnesia] whom he’d probably been trying to break up with for quite some time.” Christina's title-role character and series-regular status should help out, too!

Best News All Week? Samantha and Chuck "Canoodling"!
Okay, this is just too freakin' good not to pass along.
Two of our favorite TV actors who just so happen to play adorable titular characters on adorable shows who are looking for love have been spotted, according to Metromix Los Angeles, "canoodling" at a bar right in my own neighborhood. (Curses! Where was I last night? Oh, yeah, watching One Tree Hill.)
The cuddly could-be couple is none other than...
