Say a Prayer for Rose McGowan's Pooch

More from Marc Malkin

Rose McGowan has more important things to think about these days than the possibility of the actors' strike. Like a sick dog.

Fester, one of her two Boston terriers, has a brain tumor. “He’s 11 years old, but five weeks ago he was jumping in the air,” McGowan told me at today’s MaxMara and Women in Film luncheon honoring Ginnifer Goodwin at the Sunset Tower Hotel. “I’ll get to spend more time with him [if the strike occurs]. For now, we all have to say a prayer for Fester.”

McGowan, herself, isn’t in the best of shape either...

Rodriguez, McGowan's Match Made in Terror

Apparently, Rose McGowan really would give her right leg to have Robert Rodriguez as her husband.

The actress, who played a machine-gun-legged amputee in Planet Terror, the Rodriguez-helmed half of last year's Grindhouse, are engaged, per People magazine.

A source close to the couple confirmed the betrothal to the magazine after McGowan was spotted sporting a massive rock on her finger.

There was no immediate comment from either camp on the prenuptial news.

McGowan and Rodriguez have attempted to keep their coupling low-key, after tabloid headlines suggested their hookup doomed Rodriguez's marriage to his wife of 16 years, Elizabeth Avellan.

The speculation prompted a statement from Grindhouse producers claiming Rodriguez and Avellan, who have five children together, had separated "long before" filming. The release claimed "their separation and subsequent divorce were very amicable" and that they would continue as business partners in Troublemaker Studios.

And while the ex-Charmed star and Rodriguez were cozy in public, holding hands at the Cannes Film Festival in May, they remained coy about their relationship.

The 34-year-old actress, who was formerly engaged to shock-rocker Marilyn Manson, told People last June that she and the 39-year-old filmmaker were simply "best friends."

Aside from their wedding planning, the lovebirds will be working on another project together. Rodriguez has cast McGowan in the title role in his remake of Barbarella. And while we're not sure if she'll be invited to the wedding, Avellan will be working with ex-hubby Rodriguez again, coproducing the upcoming Sin City 2.
