Jodie Sweetin: Why I'll Never Use Drugs Again
It sounds like Jodie Sweetin, who played lovable Stephanie Tanner on family favorite sitcom Full House, is finally on her way to living the sweet life after years of alcohol and substance abuse.
In her new, brutally honest memoir UnSweetined, which hits stands today, Sweetin details how her life went from child star to out-of-control crystal meth addict. We caught up with Sweetin, now 27, the other day to talk about recovery, her one-a-half-year-old daughter, Zoie, and why she no longer thinks about using...
Rehabbing Redmond Grateful for Second Chance
Redmond O'Neal is halfway home.
After pleading no contest last week to heroin possession and receiving three years' probation, the trouble-prone son of Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett was released from Los Angeles County Jail today and immediately entered a lockdown residential rehab facility, where he will spend the next year.
"He is doing very well," the younger O'Neal's attorney, Richard Pintal, tells E! News. "He is grateful to everyone who is assisting him in his treatment and recovery."
O'Neal, 24, was busted in April for packing heroin while visiting a buddy at a Southern California lockup.
After reviewing his plea deal with prosecutors in court yesterday, Drug Court Commissioner Jane Godfrey gave the OK for the flame-haired Hollywood spawn to enter a Pasadena treatment center.
A typical day will include both individual and group therapy sessions and house chores. Visitation is allowed but not encouraged, at least in the first few months.
O'Neal is due in court for a progress report next Wednesday.
Burt Reynolds and His Mustache Ride Into Rehab
UPDATE: He came, he saw, he rehabbed. After releasing a misleadingly-worded statement, Burt Reynolds' manager confirms that the actor spent 30 days in a rehab facility, but has since been released and is continuing his sober life at home.
There's no word on when the actor entered or was released from treatment.
________
Burt Reynolds has checked himself into the best little sober house in...well, Florida, apparently.
"After a recent back surgery, Mr. Reynolds felt like he was going through hell and after a while, realized he was a prisoner of prescription pain pills," his rep tells E! News. "He checked himself into rehab in order to regain control of his life."
The news comes after the National Enquirer published a photo of the star supposedly on the grounds of the Hanley Center, a Florida-based nonprofit rehab facility.
"Mr. Reynolds hopes his story will help others in a similar situation," his rep said. "He hopes they will not try to solve the problem by themselves, but realize that sometimes it is too tough to do on their own and they should seek help, as he did."

Antonio Opens Up to Ellen About Melanie's Rehab
Antonio Banderas' marriage to Melanie Griffith isn't on the rocks. In fact, he couldn't be more proud of his wife.
In an interview airing on today's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Spanish hunk reveals his movie-star wife decided to enter a rehab clinic to conquer an addiction to pain medication—not because their 15-year-old marriage was in trouble as some tabloids claimed.
"It was said actually in some magazine that I gave an ultimatum to my wife. That I present the matter of divorce because she has been involved in addictions and blah, blah, blah," said the 49-year-old Banderas.
Melanie Griffith's "Routine" Trip to Rehab
We suppose it's important for any Working Girl to have a steady routine.
That's apparently why Melanie Griffith is spending time in rehab once again—it's all part of the plan.
"She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy," the actress's rep told PerezHilton.com Monday. "This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago."
Well, there goes our theory that being married to Antonio Banderas is the solution to everything.
Coolio Pleads Guilty to Drug Charges, Heads to Rehab
While it may not technically be a "Gangsta's Paradise," rapper Coolio is skipping jail time for rehab, so things are looking up.
The 45-year old entertainer, born Artis Leon Ivey Jr., pleaded guilty to a felony drug charge, as well as misdemeanor counts of battery and possession, stemming from his March 6 arrest at Los Angeles International Airport. Airport security found cocaine and a smoking device in Coolio's luggage, and once they attempted to open the bag, authorities claim that the former star grabbed one of the screener's arms to halt the search.
On Friday, the "Fantastic Voyage" hitmaker was ordered to complete an 18-month drug diversion education and treatment program.
Coolio will be eligible to ask a judge for a dismissal if he can provide proof of the program's completion and, more importantly, demonstrate that his rehab stint was successful.
Coolio is due back in court on September 28 for a progress check.
Redmond O'Neal Moves Into Rehab Jail
Trying to keep a promise to gravely ill mom Farrah Fawcett, Redmond O'Neal has taken another step toward straightening out and cleaning up.
After spending almost a month in a downtown Los Angeles lockup, the drug-addicted son of the cancer-stricken Charlie's Angels star and Ryan O'Neal has been transferred to another jail specializing in hard-core rehab.
The move came after a judge determined that the younger O'Neal couldn't enter a private drug-treatment facility, according to L.A. sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.
O'Neal, 24, will spend 18 months in the new jail, which will provide a strict regimen of daily activities including group counseling, drug testing and educational programs.
Dennis Rodman Rebounds Back to Rehab
After getting the boot on The Celebrity Apprentice, it looks like Dennis Rodman's next venture will be a familiar one: rehab.
The former NBA star, who has battled addiction for years, has agreed to enter an outpatient program where he'll regularly see a counselor.
While it is a step in the right direction, last week family and friends of Rodman, including his former Los Angeles Lakers coach, Phil Jackson, unsuccessfully reached out to the star, who refused to admit himself to an inpatient facility.
"Yes, they tried an intervention, but unfortunately Dennis refused to go," Rodman's rep tells E! News. "We all know how amazing he is when sober, and we hope he gets there soon."
One reason for his refusal to go into treatment? Rodman's desire to attend The Celebrity Apprentice reunion show. Says his rep, "He will be in New York City for the show's finale next Sunday."
Redmond O'Neal Sent Back to Rehab, Last "Opportunity"
Well, Redmond O'Neal does have an Angel looking after him...
That might explain why the scofflaw son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal managed to escape prison time and instead wound up sentenced to rehab for two drug cases.
The 24-year-old's fourth stint in rehab will last at least a year and require him to be at the locked-down Wayside Honor Ranch for part of the treatment, according to Los Angeles D.A. spokeswoman Jane Robison.
"Drug court is just a more intensive drug rehab program," Robison tells E! News. "It's at least a yearlong program, and depending on how well he does it could be longer than a year."

Jessica Simpson Helps Welcome Home a "Blessed" Lane Garrison
Hours after his release from prison and a gathering at Jessica Simpson's parents' house, a noticeably thinner Lane Garrison spoke exclusively to E! News as he arrived at the Los Angeles-area Tarzana Treatment Center to begin a five-month stint at the residential inpatient facility.
Wearing a baseball cap with the word "faith" printed on it, the former Prison Break star discussed his plans for the future.
"I'm blessed to be alive," said Garrison, who spent more than 19 months in prison altogether for a 2006 DUI crash that left one passenger dead.
"I'm just worried about getting through treatment right now," he said. Also, "I'm looking forward to getting on with my life and doing the right thing and helping people."
During his incarceration, Garrison was a peer mentor for fellow inmates, a responsibility that requires a spotless behavior record while behind bars.
And he had some famous friends waiting for him on the outside upon his release.

Ex-Idol Singer Jessica Sierra: "Dr. Drew Saved My Life"
Score one for Celebrity Rehab.
Jessica Sierra, the fourth-season American Idol contestant who became far more famous for her postshow troubles than anything she accomplished onstage, credits her time spent under the care of real-life M.D. and TV savior Dr. Drew Pinsky—and, interestingly, a media ban—for saving her from the ravages of substance abuse.
"I did have an issue with drugs and alcohol, and I think the media just intensified that for me," Sierra, who completed her latest treatment program with Drew in January, said in an exclusive sit-down with E! News. "I think the media ban did save my life."
Following an arrest for disorderly conduct and resisting an officer in December 2007, a Florida judge sentenced the aspiring singer to 12 months in rehab for violating probation on a previous drug bust and ordered her to stay at least 100 feet away from the media's cameras and microphones.
"Being a young girl and being thrown on a stage with all this media attention…it's all around you," says Sierra. "You're going out to clubs and you're hanging out with all these people and it's fun and it's exciting and you don't really know what to do with it.
"Addiction, it just got me."
