Nicole Kidman Planning Early Retirement?
Nicole Kidman may be following in the footsteps of Joaquin Phoenix—minus the directionally challenged, indecipherable hand scrawls, that is.
During a Sydney press conference today to promote the Down Under premiere of Australia, the Oscar winner hinted she may soon be forsaking the big screen for another round of diaper duty, or other more personal endeavors.
"In terms of my future as an actor and stuff, I don't know," the 41-year-old mother of three said. "I am in a place in my life where...I've had some great opportunities, and I may just choose to have some more children."
Talk about a mother of a calling.
Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron's Movie Marriage
Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron are getting in bed together.
The two have signed up to star in the movie adaptation of David Ebershoff’s best-selling novel from 2000, The Danish Girl, their reps confirm.
Kidman will play real-life artist Einar Wegener, the world’s first postop male transsexual. Theron will take on the role of Wegener’s artist wife, Gerda.
See Nicole Kidman & Co. Strut Their Stuff!
The countdown to Nine has begun.
The Weinstein Company just released the first photo from the set of director Rob Marshall's movie adaptation of the Tony Award-winning stage musical, which is being shot in England and Italy.
Yeah, it's a bit difficult to tell who is who, but if ya look closely, you can see Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Dame Judi Dench, Penélope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Fergie and Sophia Loren.
Daniel Day-Lewis (his back is to the camera) stars as Guido Contini, an Italian filmmaker who is balancing his latest movie project with all the various women in his life.
We know—most men should be so lucky.
Nicole Opens Way Up—But Not Far Enough?
Nicole Kidman, lately so the queen of keeping mum, has a pretty exposed interview running in Sunday's Parade mag. Fabulous that, for first time in a while, she's really very forthcoming. This is the Nic we used to know. Accessible (sorta), confessional, sweet.
Nicky yaks about going "to hell and back" with hub-unit Keith while he was rehabbing, her motherly instinct over baby Sunday and even confirms her Cruise-shared kids, Isabella and Connor, were in fact raised as Scientologists. Fascinating stuff that is so clearly a calculated bit of info, as, in times prior, nothing was ever said about the kids. Ever.
What's more telling, though, is what's missing from this candid spill...
Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini Joined at the Hip
Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini were like a couple of high schoolers last night at Elle's Women in Hollywood Tribute.
The two arrived hand in hand and then dashed through the predinner cocktail reception still holding hands. (A big burly bodyguard led them through the crowd, making sure no one got in their way.) As soon as they made it to their seats, they hung out like a couple of cool chicks in the cafeteria.
They talked, they giggled, and they took pics of each other with their BlackBerrys.
And it didn't end there...
Nicole Kidman: "A More Evolved Love" With Keith
Nicole Kidman's days of thunder may be gone, but they're certainly not forgotten.
And in a way, the subject of her marriage to Tom Cruise, per the November issue of Elle, does provide a better understanding of her relationship with hubby Keith Urban.
"I didn't forsee it, that you can meet somebody who you have a deep and more profound love with," the Oscar winner says about her feelings toward the country crooner.
"I don't mean to take away anything with Tom," she's quick to add, "but I would hope that he has the same thing—I know he has the same thing with Katie. You move into a stage where you're able to be a more fuller person in your relationship."
Nicole Kidman's Fertility Wonderfalls
Nicole Kidman is giving a whole new meaning to the expression "There must be something in the water."
The 41-year-old Oscar winner, who welcomed daughter Sunday Rose in July, believes swimming in the "fertility waters" of the Australian Outback during production of her upcoming film, Australia, may have contributed to her conceiving.
"I never thought that I would get pregnant and give birth to a child, but it happened on this movie," Kidman tells the Australian Women's Weekly, adding that six other women who also went for a dip soon began sporting baby bumps as well.
"There is something up there in the Kununurra water, because we all went swimming in the waterfalls, so we can call it the fertility waters now."
In other news, Keith Urban's ego has completely deflated.
Casting Couch: Kidman Fills Up Wonder, Miley Ditches Hannah in New Disney Flick
Nicole Kidman's professional days aren't numbered, but her next gig is.
The alabaster Oscar winner has signed on to star in The Eighth Wonder, a globetrotting action thriller that, according to the Hollywood Reporter, is aiming to be an estrogenized Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Plot details are under tighter wraps than a mummy, but the flick will revolve around a worldwide treasure hunt concocted by Mr. and Mrs. Smith scribe Simon Kinberg. Kidman was originally on board to star in the latter film before scheduling conflicts caused her to back out.
No doubt to her and Jennifer Aniston's chagrin.
Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus' series of post-Vanity Fair mea culpas has apparently done enough to keep her in Disney's good graces—the tween queen has signed on to star in a non-Hannah Montana flick for the Mouse House...

Someone call the babysitter!
Mommies with new babies at home Nicole Kidman, Halle Berry, Salma Hayek and Isla Fisher are among the eight women who will be honored by Elle magazine next month at the 15th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute.
Other honorees include Jane Fonda, Sigourney Weaver, Anne Hathaway and Catherine Hardwicke, director of the upcoming big screen adaptation of Twilight.
The festivities happen Oct. 6 at a VIP dinner at the Four Seasons hotel in Beverly Hills.
Women in Hollywood was started by movie magazine Premiere, but was taken over by Elle when it folded last year.
Baz's Australia Bumped Back
This trip to Oz is going to take a little longer than expected.
With Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince disapparating from its original Nov. 21 release date, Fox has shifted Australia into position to take advantage of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Baz Luhrmann's eagerly anticipated, Oscar-baiting epic stars Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman in a Western-styled romance set against the backdrop of World War II.
Australia was originally scheduled to unspool Nov. 14 and face off with MGM's latest James Bond adventure, Quantum of Solace, itself pushed back from Nov. 7 after Warner Bros. relocated Potter to July 2009.
Luhrmann's first film since 2001's hit musical Moulin Rouge!—and his most expensive to date, with a budget estimated at $130 million—will now open simultaneously in the U.S., Australia and Canada on Nov. 26, the Wednesday before Turkey Day.
Instead of 007, Australia will face lesser compeition for box-office supremacy: Lionsgate's Transporter 3 and Warners' Four Christmases, starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon, also open that weekend.
Nicole Kidman Prompts Olympians' Sail to Victory
Nicole Kidman's got the golden touch.
A phone call from the Australian actress helped spur two of her countrymen to victory Monday in the men's 470 class sailing competition at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, gold medal winner Malcolm Page tells Melbourne's Herald Sun.
After making tracks in the preliminary rounds, Page, partner Nathan Wilmot and their 4.70-meter-long fiberglass dinghy—named the Australia, after Baz Luhrmann's upcoming epic starring Kidman and Hugh Jackman—also finished first in yesterday's medal race, beating out teams from Great Britain and France for the top spot on the podium.
But despite their nautical tribute to Kidman, Page says that he didn't get to speak to her when she first rang him up because he saw the unknown number and let her call go to voice mail.
Nicole: Where's the Kid, Man?
It may be Tuesday, but all we can think about is Sunday.
As new mom Nicole Kidman was spotted heading to yoga Monday, it got us all wondering why we have yet to see her and hubby Keith Urban's daughter, Sunday Rose.
After all, it's been two—count 'em, two—whole weeks now since they welcomed their bundle of joy, and there hasn't been any sign of her whatsoever.
