Just when you thought the whole
Terminator thing would be headed for a junkyard, AARP-eligible
Arnold Schwarzenegger plugs us in and pulls out a winner. Nearly 20 years after the first
Terminator blew up the big screen, this one still offers massive action and a compelling plot. The Terminator (Arnie) is sent back in time (again) to protect the future leader (
Nick Stahl) of an army that will be key to the survival of the human race.
Hot on their trail is a new mechanized menace (
Kristanna Loken) with looks to kill and an arm that can morph into any weapon she chooses. Urban warfare ensues, and the movie races to blow up as much stuff as possible (which it does in grandiose style) and add interesting twists to the lore of the franchise. And whether you want to believe it or not, Schwarzenegger's dry robo-wit still gets laughs. This will definitely get a
Rise out of action buffs--and we mean that in a totally good way.
