Balthazar Getty: His Future, According to Brothers & Sisters Costars

Rachell Griffiths and Matthew Rhys insist they don't want to say goodbye to bad-boy Balthazar

Balthazar Getty may be rubbing cast and crew of Brothers & Sisters the wrong way, but some of his costars insist they don't want to see him off the show.

"I think the show is going through a slight transition period," Matthew Rhys, who plays Kevin Walker on the hit ABC drama, told us last night at the pre-Golden Globes benefit for the Art of Elysium in downtown Los Angeles. "How much we'll see him next season, I don't know."

As I first reported, Getty, who plays Tommy Walker on the show, is said to have alienated most of his coworkers because of unpleasant behavior at work since he hooked up with British starlet Sienna Miller. Just last week, my always-in-the-know E! Online cohort, Kristin Dos Santos, exclusively reported that Getty will be phased out before the current season ends.

Getty's rep maintains that he's not going anywhere. And so does Rachel Griffiths, who plays Sarah Whedon...

"We're a family," said Griffiths, who's up for a Golden Globe tonight for her work on B&S. "We'll get through it. And all I can say is we love him very dearly, and I'm seeing him on Monday, and I feel very good about that."

Rhys, whose friendship with Getty reportedly hit a rough patch because of Miller (Rhys reportedly dated her, too), added, "No one would want him completely gone. We've all established ourselves as a family on the show, and I hope we continue to do so."

Dave Annable, who plays Justin Walker, said he's "not sure" what the future holds for Getty, but "it would be awful" if he left.

Last night's gala, which was cochaired by Getty's estranged wife, Rosetta, and Relativity Media honcho Ryan Kavanaugh, honored Eva Mendes and director Jim Sheridan.

Other guests included Gerard Butler, Kirsten Dunst, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Joy Bryant, Amy Smart, Elijah Wood, Nicole Richie, Joel Madden, Aaron Eckhart, Milla Jovovich and Shannen Doherty.

The night before, many of the same boldfaced names, along with Jennifer Aniston, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Gwen Stefani, hit a private shindig for hunger relief organization Feeding America.
