Melrose Place Gets a New Lease on Life

Melrose Place Fox

First Beverly Hills, 90210 and now Melrose Place.

Yup, the CW is looking to resurrect the 1990s prime-time soap.

While it’s early in the game, a rep for the network confirms they are working on putting together an updated take on the show.

The series, which revolved around a group of young and very pretty Los Angelenos living in the same apartment complex, is legendary for its over-the-top melodrama and storylines.

Heather Locklear starred as advertising executive Amanda Woodward. Marcia Cross and Kristin Davis also appeared on the show.

Lisa Rinna first told us about the possible plans over a month ago. "I've heard a rumor of them bringing back the show like they did 90210," Rinna said.

At the time, a CW rep denied any such thing was happening.

Melrose ran on Fox from 1992 to 1999 and was produced by Aaron Spelling. It was created by 90210 creator Darren Starr.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Starr will not be involved with the redo and the network is still looking for a writer for the new project.
