Heidi Montag & Spencer Pratt: Let Gays Marry!
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt may prance around singing the praises of John McCain and Sarah Palin, but that doesn't mean the Hills stars are completely in line with the Republican ticket.
Unlike McPalin, Speidi supports gay marriage.
"I think it's your own choice," Montag said last night at the opening of Svedka presents Hollywood, DC: Lights! Camera! Election!, an art show at the World of Wonder Storefront Gallery in Hollywood. "I think, you know, whoever you decide to marry—boys, girls, whatever you like—it's up to you."
Pratt credits his girlfriend's glam squad with his open-mindedness. "Heidi's hair and makeup people are my favorite people in the world and they happen to be gay," he said. "So if they wanna go marry each other, good for them."
What else did we learn about Montag and Pratt's political views last night? Here are some of the highlights:
They don't think Colin Powell's endorsement of Barack Obama will hurt Sen. McCain. "I think McCain is strong and great," Montag cooed. "And, you know, who needs Colin Powell?"
Heidi downplayed her sister Holly's Democratic leanings (Holly told us earlier this month that she's pro-Obama.). "I think [Holly] is a McCain supporter," Montag said. "She just got confused for a minute. I think if she's a Montag, she's definitely a McCain supporter."
Meanwhile, Montag confirmed her Heidiwood clothing line with Anchor Blue is no longer. "It's really just time for me to move on," she said, adding, "I have a lot of things in the works and I will definitely continue designing, but more for my style."
As for her reunion with Lauren Conrad last week, Montag says they haven't spoken again…yet: "Hopefully I'll see her soon."
