Oscar Scoop! An Enchanted Evening with a Daisies Diva

One of my favorite Broadway divas may just get to show off her singing chops at this year’s Oscars.

Assuming the Academy Awards will take place, I’m told Kristin Chenoweth is likely to perform one of the three Enchanted numbers up for Best Original Song. Nothing is official just yet, but I’m told Chenoweth, who plays Olive Snook on ABC’s hit show Pushing Daisies, will belt out “That’s How You Know.”

Chenoweth, whom you may also remember from The West Wing, won a 1999 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her work as Sally in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. She’s best known for her role as the original Galinda/Glinda in Wicked.

While Amy Adams sang “That’s How You Know” in Enchanted, a source tells me Chenoweth was invited to perform because Adams will already be singing “Happy Working Song” on the big night. Jon McLaughlin will do the honors with “So Close,” which he sang in the flick.

Other Best Song contenders include August Rush's “Raise It Up,” by Jamia Simone Nash, and Once's “Falling Slowly,” by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová.

"We have not yet announced any performers on the Academy Awards show," an Oscar rep said.

If all goes well with the writers' strike, the Oscars will be handed out Feb. 24 at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.
