Live from New York, It's...Grey Gardens

Christine Ebersole Joan Marcus/Walter Kerr Theater

Hello from New York City!

I finally got to see Grey Gardens, a show everyone has been raving about and one of the year’s biggest hits on Broadway.

If I didn’t know better, I would have thought that the real-life “Little” Edie Beale and her mother, Edith Bouvier Beale, were playing themselves in the Tony Award-winning show.

Christine Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson star in this musical adaptation of the Maysles brothers' documentary Grey Gardens, in which we got a glimpse at the strange lives of this mother-daughter duo. Relatives of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, the Beales made headlines in the 1970s when it was revealed that they were living as recluses among cats, raccoons and trash on their family’s rotting Hamptons estate.

Find out what I thought about the new musical by clicking below for my Planet Gossip video blog. Remember, I post a new video every weekday morning.
