Was Princess Diana Headed for Hollywood?

Did Princess Diana have dreams of being a movie star?
Kevin Costner reportedly claimed a few years ago that he and the people’s princess talked about the possibility of starring together in a sequel to Costner and Whitney Houston’s hit flick, The Bodyguard, before Diana was tragically killed in 1997.
However, former Vanity Fair and New Yorker editor Tina Brown doesn’t think Diana would have ever tried making a play for the silver screen.
“She'd never have done that, or been an actress, but I think she'd have a place out here,” Brown said yesterday at AARP: The Magazine’s luncheon at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles to toast Brown’s new book, The Diana Chronicles.
Apparently, Diana had some dreams of the West Coast.
“She did, in fact, want a place in Malibu, and I think she'd have ended up coming here a lot,” Brown said. “You know, in a way, fame the size of hers needed L.A., Hollywood, to cope. It's the home of big fame, and you can come and lose yourself behind a gated house. I can imagine her having a very enjoyable time in the pool here and the kids visiting. It's tragic, really, that she never had her second act here."
Among the boldfaced names who came out to see Brown were David Geffen, Michael Eisner, Steve Martin, Morgan Fairchild, Cheryl Tiegs, Emily Mortimer and Mimi Rogers.
