I just stepped onto the carpet. It's not red but fuchsia. As I make my way to my assigned spot, there are dozens of photographers, camera crews and what seems like a gazillion reporters.

There are a couple of sports cars on the carpet. Why? I'm told they have something to do with the show's Transformers-themed opening.

A friend just returned from inside Universal's Gibson Amphitheater. It seems Amy Winehouse has gone astray. "She just walked out and went on a tram ride," my pal says. "They were screaming for her to come back, but she just waved goodbye."

Let's just hope she makes it back in time for her performance.
