Rob and Kristen Have a Happy New Year...Together!

Find out what locals across the pond are saying about Pattinson and Stewart's holiday in the middle of the English Channel

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart seem to have rung in the New Year together on the British hunk's home turf.

Various reports out of the U.K. claim that the Twilight lovebirds costars were spotted near Ventnor on the Isle of Wight, an island located about five miles from the south coast of the mainland in the English Channel.

Actual sightings of Pattinson and Stewart are few and far between, but...

One young female fan is said to have taken separate photos with each of them when she ran into them while they were on what appeared to be an afternoon shopping excursion.

In both pics posted on robstenlove.com, the fan smiles from ear to ear while Rob and Kristen eke out a couple of smiles while bundled up—requisite hoodies included—in their signature black and gray colors. 

This was after Rob was snapped at home with his older sister Lizzy. (And yes, we're continuing to report on the Robsten New Year's. We promise to get back to you with any and all details we may find.)

While Ms. Stewart may be enjoying her time off, she's back to work later this month when she is expected to be at the Sundance Film Festival for a few days to promote two films, The Runaways and Welcome to the Rileys.

Pattinson, meanwhile, has already begun promotional work for the March release of Remember Me, including a recent Vogue photoshoot in Los Angeles with costar Emilie de Ravin. And as we all know, Eclipse is just around the corner.

No word if Pattinson is planning to join Stewart at Sundance. And there's certainly no word if the two marked 2010 with a kiss at the stroke of midnight.
