Reese & Jake: Life Goes On After Split

Reese Witherspoon isn't letting her Thanksgiving breakup from Jake Gyllenhaal spoil the holidays.

A source tells us the Oscar winner plans to spend time skiing out west with friends along with her kids.

So where's Jakey?

Gyllenhaal joined the star-studded crowd who braved the New York City blizzard on Saturday night to pop into the Thompson Smyth Tribeca hotel, where Justin Theroux, Mark Ronson and Scott Campbell hosted a holiday party benefiting God's Love We Deliver.

Joining the Brokeback Mountain man (who turned 29 on Saturday) were Mary-Louise Parker, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Will Arnett and Josh Hartnett, among others.

"Jake hung out with the guys all night," a source said. "He seemed in good spirits. He and Matt Dillon chatted for a good portion of the night and were laughing at each other's stories."

(Update: Gyllenhaal's rep says that the actor wasn't in NYC on Saturday. Even so, our sources continue to insist they saw him at the event. If he wasn't there, we apologize for the confusion. But if he was, we'd like to thank Mr. Gyllenhaal for helping out such a great organization.)

Another recently single celeb who was spotted over the weekend is Sean Penn, seen at North Hollywood's NoBar. But the 49-year-old actor wasn't with Jessica White, the 25-year-old beauty he was reportedly dating following his split from from Robin Wright. A source tells us Sean and Jessica haven't been hanging out for a while now.

"The new girl was also tall, hot, young-looking, with dark hair," an eyewitness tells us. "The two spent the whole night attached at the hip, while rubbing each other's backs and whispering in each other's ears."

The two celebrated her friend's 21st birthday with four other people. "She looked really excited introducing her friends to him for the first time," the source said.

Meanwhile, in celebrity-couples-who-are-still-together news, Nicole Kidman is going to stink real pretty in the new year.

We hear the Nine star's hubby, Keith Urban, was recently shopping at Harvey Nichols in London. A source says the country crooner picked up four bottles of By Kilian fragrances for Nic, including Love: Don't Be Shy; Taste of Heaven: Absinthe Verte; Cruel Intentions: Tempt Me; and Arabian Nights: Pure Oud.

Guess you could say it's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas for Nicole and Keith.
