Oprah Winfrey on Jay-Z: He Smells Really Good!

Oprah Winfrey thinks Jay-Z stinks—in a good way, that is.

"I could smell him on me and I was like, 'Oh, my, this is wonderful,' " the talk-show queen recently gushed on her best bud Gayle King's radio show. "He smelled so good!"

Winfrey got up close and personal with the music mogul when she interviewed him for the new issue of O magazine.

All scents aside, Winfrey managed to get the ultraprivate hip-hopster to talk about his marriage to 27-year-old Beyoncé Knowles...

Jay-Z says he and Knowles only told a few people they were getting hitched. "The sad part is that we offended some," he said. "But people who love you understand, because at the end of the day, it's your day."

Being settled into almost a year and a half of marriage doesn't stop the 39-year-old from enjoying date nights with his ladylove. "There's a great pizza spot we go to every Sunday," he said. "It's our tradition. It's a small place in Brooklyn, you can bring your own wine, and there are candles there. It's a nice date."

But even Jay's sweet side won't keep him from using the N-word in his music.

"It's just become part of the way we communicate," he said. "My generation hasn't had the same experience with that word that generations of people before us had. We weren't so close to the pain. So in our way, we disarmed the word. We took the fire pin out of the grenade."
