Taylor Lautner and Selena Gomez are just friends.
So says Gomez’s pal and Wizards of Waverly Place costar Jennifer Stone.
"Just because they're hanging out together doesn't mean they're dating, you know," Stone told us last night at the Catch Boutique and Operation Smile and Hope event in L.A. "A lot of girls have guy friends."
So what's the deal?
Romance rumors began circling Taylena last week when they were spotted together at restaurants in and around Vancouver, where both have been shooting movies. Lautner, 17, has also visited Gomez, 16, on the set of her flick, Ramona and Beezus, but they never showed showed signs of being romantic, according to a source.
"They're just friends," Stone said. "She's friends with guys!"
Stone says she hasn't even met Taylor. "I'm a big Twilight fan though," she gushed. "I'm a big Robert Pattinson fan, which I know if I met Taylor, he would not be a fan of me not saying he's my favorite, but I really do love Rob."
Meanwhile, Stone and Gomez have plenty to celebrate today. The Disney Channel just announced that Wizards of Waverly Place has been picked up for a third season, plus a movie based on the comedy series centering around a vacation in the Caribbean will premiere in August.
Gomez really is getting the full Hannah Montana treatment, isn't she? The actress also stars alongside Demi Lovato in Princess Protection Program, which premieres on Disney on June 26.
So should Gomez and Lautner reconsider this "just friends" thing? After all, Taylena could be Hollywood's cutest couple. Or will friendship outlast any romance?
