Broken-Down Cars and Hot Tranny Messes

Nothing comes between Leona Lewis and her gay fans. Not even a broken-down car in the middle of New York City's rush-hour traffic.

The “Bleeding Love” songstress came close to missing gay TV network Logo’s first NewNowNext Awards yesterday at the MTV studios in Times Square. “The car she was in broke down on the way to the show,” a source reports. “She went and hailed a cab!"

Lewis was given the Kylie Award: Next International Crossover, beating out Robyn, Sia and Duffy. “She joked that the award officially made her a 'diva,' ” says my source.

And just how did Project Runway winner Christian Siriano prove he was a trooper?

During the show (which airs on Logo June 7), Siriano actually locked lips with...a woman! Make that, lesbian comic Julie Goldman.

“Christian and Julie had a makeout moment à la Adrien Brody and Halle Berry at the Oscars,” another attendee said. “She almost broke the poor guy in half when she dipped him back. I gotta believe that was his first time kissing a girl!”

Siriano had another fun run-in with the evening's host, Dirty Sexy Money’s transgendered star Candis Cayne.

Siriano was onstage and uttered his catchphrase “hot tranny mess.” Cayne came from backstage, my source says, and hissed, “I hope you aren’t talking about me.”

Siriano insisted he wasn’t, cooing, “You're a hot tranny success!”
