It's no secret: Mr. Woodcock is not one of the more talked about comedies of 2007. But I sat down with its stars yesterday, and they're already seeing past the thing—each has very buzzed about projects in the works.

Billy Bob Thorntonwho says that Mr. Woodcock completes his box set of comedies where "I get to play an asshole"—has signed on for the big-screen adaptation of Brett Easton Ellis' The Informers.

Based on the book of short stories by the author who also penned American Psycho and The Rules of Attraction, the movie takes place in Los Angeles in the early 1980s. In addition to Billy Bob, Kim Basinger, Ashley Olsen and Brandon Routh are on board. What's also got me excited is that the film is being adapted to the screen by a guy who went to my high school, Nicholas Jarecki. Go, collegiate!

Woodcock costar Seann William Scott has a few projects lined up, and there's one in particular in which he could learn a thing or two from Thornton. He's starring as the title role in Gary the Tennis Coach alongside Randy Quaid. The best part? The film reteams Scott with Dude, Where's My Car? director Danny Leiner.

So, just when you think a buzz-free Mr. Woodcock might slow down two funny and talented actors, have no fear. The Hollywood machine is in full gear, ready to turn out the next one.
