UPDATE: Lindsay's lawyer, er, Twitter says: "No formula was stolen for Sevin Nyne. It's a woman looking for a payday. That's it!"

The president of United 1 Labs, which manufactures Sevin Nyne, also issued this statement:

"I am sorry to hear about the claims being made against Lorit, LLC regarding the Sevin Nyne product," said exec George Mitchell. "I have been involved in creating self-tanning products for over 12 years. When requested to help develop the formula for Sevin Nyne with Lorit, LLC I did so using my expertise and was not provided with any formulas or trade secrets by Lorit, LLC or anyone involved in or related to the Sevin Nyne product. 

"As everyone in the self tanning industry is aware, the combination of dihydroxyacetone and erythrulose are commonly used in all self tanning products. There is nothing proprietary about the combination of those two items.  Further, there is nothing proprietary with regard to the fragrance used."

He trusts the "truth will prevail."

Let's just make something clear: Britney Spears is alive and well. So are Ellen DeGeneres and Sean "Diddy" Combs.

Apparently, the pop star and the comedienne's TwitPic accounts were hacked over the weekend. TwitPic is a web-based messaging system that allows Twitter users to post pictures. It is not, however, owned by Twitter.

The total twit perpetrator must have thought it would be funny to add these celebs' names to the frighteningly growing list of deaths over the past week.

"Britney has passed today," one of the messages said. "It is a sad day for everyone. More news to come."

Thankfully, Brit-Brit joins Harrison Ford and Jeff Goldblum among the stars whose fake death notices spread throughout the Internet this week.

"Britney’s Twitter was just hacked," her current message reads. "The last message is obviously not true. She is fine and dandy spending a quiet day at home relaxing."

Phew!

Diddy, DeGeneres and Spears have all since deleted the photos and messages alleging their deaths.

This isn't Spears' first run-in with a Twitter hacker. The Circus star's account was violated in January, along with handles for Barack Obama and Fox News. And, just two weeks ago, Lindsay Lohan claimed comments about Justin Timberlake at a club appeared courtesy of a hacker.

Thankfully, things are a bit more copacetic elsewhere in the Twitterverse…

Lindsay Lohan is airing a lot of laundry on Twitter, but she maintains she has not tweeted judgment on Justin Timberlake.

"I don't twitter about my personal life! Let alone, someone else's life! I've learned my lesson some time ago," the actress wrote on—what else?—her Twitter page Wednesday afternoon after being asked about a post from two days ago that inquired, "where's jb cheater?"

Well, according to Lohan, said accusatory tweet was the work of an impostor who somehow accessed her account.

"Stop trying to get onto my twitter page whoever you are! Its become extremely creepy!!!" she wrote, followed moments later by, "Just trying to clear the air! And I'm tired of changing my password every other day!"

The Timberlake-related post also had a so-dark-you-can't-see-anything picture attached to it, purportedly showing the pop-R&B star living it up on the dance floor at NYC hot spot Avenue.

Lindsay Lohan is going through another one of her breakups with Samantha Ronson (or whatever it is those girls call it), and the poor girl is taking it out on Twitter.

First she wanted to clarify yesterday's topless picture: "Haha-the photo of me for FORNARINA in THE TRAILER was sent by my sister as a PRANK. So calm down radaronline.com with FAKE STORIES!"

Then it was cheater talk time, which LiLo cleverly tried to disguise with initials. Like when she saw Justin Timberlake out with another lady, she tattled (twattled?): "where's jb cheater?" Jb meaning Jessica Biel, of course.

And last night she bemoaned cheating twice. "Why do people cheat?" she pondered. Then she got specific and asked of her ex-girlfriend's initials: "Why do people cheat? When love is always standing right in front of their face (s) ?? Sr?"

But don't let all this twittering fool you—Lindsay swears she is just fine being alone: "I love being alone. Feels safe coz I can only trust myself...ya, sad. But I'm cool with it :) that's y I share it with others in films." Yes, because people who are totally OK being alone always spend their entire night up twittering!

Somebody remind us Twitter even exists...
