The Closer: Are Brenda and Fritz Going to Have a Baby?
Change is coming to The Closer.
Let's rephrase that—big changes (plural) are coming to The Closer when season five premieres Monday night on TNT...especially if you ask the lady in charge, Kyra Sedgwick.
We caught up with her Tuesday at the Carlton Hotel in New York City, where she was hosting a brunch in honor of Tropicana's Trop50 and the launch of its web series, The Juice.
"This season's theme is about change," Sedgwick told us. "There have been a couple changes in the squad, and Brenda's a married woman."
While those alterations were to be expected, the Golden Globe winner dropped a few hints about death, romance and, yes, babies in the upcoming episodes.

Kyra Sedgwick: Kevin Bacon Gave Chace Crawford Footloose Pointers
While we don't yet know who will play Chace Crawford's love interest in the upcoming Footloose remake, we do know he has some big shoes to fill.
At a brunch event for Trop50 and The Juice, Kyra Sedgwick opened up about what her hubby, original Ren Kevin Bacon, thought of the casting.
"We met him at the [White House] Correspondents' Dinner and our daughter's a big fan," she told E! News. "We were like, 'If he's good enough for her, he's good enough for us.' "
More importantly, Bacon imparted a little wisdom on the Gossip Girl star.
"Kevin said good luck and gave him a couple of thoughts, but I can't remember what they were. Something about wearing really tight jeans and Herbert Ross saying to him, when he was doing the final dance scene, 'These aren't tight enough!' So he kind of warned Chace about it, 'You're gonna have to wear really tight jeans. Just so ya know.' "
Several of Crawford's GG castmates were equally as amused...
Bilking John Malkovich, Directed by Bernie Madoff
Bernard Madoff burned more boldfaced bridges than we thought.
John Malkovich; Larry King; Ringo Starr's wife, Barbara Bach; and baseball great Sandy Koufax were on a 162-page list released late Wednesday of clients who invested with the disgraced money manager's New York firm, a list that also included, as previously reported, Kevin Bacon and Steven Spielberg's charitable Wunderkinder Foundation.
Madoff, currently under house arrest in Manhattan, is reportedly cooperating with authorities after admitting to losing $50 billion in an alleged Ponzi scheme that bilked individuals and businesses alike.
A rep for King has said that the talk-show host's losses were "not substantial," while the other celebs have also refused to talk exact dollar figures.
A lawyer for Zsa Zsa Gabor, who was not on the list, says the much-married actress and socialite may have lost as much as $10 million investing with Madoff.
How Did Stars Get So Swindled by Madoff?
Didn't you once talk about how many people work for stars? If so many people work for them, how could a big celeb like Kevin Bacon get taken by financial advisor Bernard Madoff?
—Pubster, San Jose
Indeed, stars are excellent collectors of two things: money and people. Angelina Jolie prefers her person collection to come small and swaddled, but most other celebrities like to amass adults: assistants (anywhere from one to three per person) as well as multiple agents, nannies (three per child) and the like.
As for how an alleged fraudster financier like Madoff could penetrate all those celebrity toadies—he is accused of bilking millions from Bacon, his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, Steven Spielberg and many others—the answer may surprise you...
Kyra and Kevin Victims of Madoff Investment Scandal
Kevin Bacon must be wondering what happened to those other five degrees.
It turns out that the actor and his Golden Globe-nominated missus, Kyra Sedgwick, are among the Hollywood types who lost some of their honestly gotten gains at the hands of disgraced money manager Bernard Madoff, who has reportedly admitted to bilking his wealthy clients out of billions of dollars.
A publicist for the couple wouldn't say how much money they had tangled up in what allegedly amounted to a $50 billion Ponzi scheme, but the rep confirmed that Bacon and Sedgwick did have investments with Madoff, who was arrested Dec. 11.
