Selena Gomez: I'm Not Hating on Twilight!

Selena Gomez wants you to know that she never said she doesn't like Twilight.

The Disney darling has been getting a lot of flack from Twi-hards because they're feeling like she dissed the world's most talked-about vampire franchise when she told Bonnie Hunt last week that she hasn't actually seen Twilight.

"All I said was that I didn't watch it and I felt bad for not watching it," Selena explained to me at yesterday's American Music Awards. "But of course, now it's like, 'I don't like it.' That's not the case."

And Selena is brave enough to admit that—gasp!—she hasn't read any of Stephenie Meyer's Twi-novels, either. "I feel bad," she said. "And I'm sorry if I offended anyone for that."

Selena certainly wasn't the only one talking Twilight and New Moon at the AMAs. Read on for more…

Adam Lambert: Dating? No. Clubbing? Yes!

Adam Lambert and his boyfriend, Drake LaBry, may have recently called it quits, but that doesn't mean the singer is on the market.

"I'm so busy with all this stuff and with the record that I'm really just focused on the music right now," Lambert told us last night at TV Guide magazine's Hot List Party at the SLS Hotel.

Not that he doesn't enjoy having a good time. Lambert was spotted after the TV Guide bash hanging at Hollywood's Bardot nightclub. In addition to chatting with Samantha Ronson, I'm told he appeared quite cozy with "a blond model-like guy in his thirties."

OK, now we can talk about the music...

Kris Allen: Adam Lambert Doin' Just Fine Post-Breakup

Kris Allen says there's no need to worry about Adam Lambert after his split from boyfriend Drake LaBry.

"He's doing good," the American Idol winner, 24, told us yesterday at the People's Choice Awards nominations announcement. "He's obviously not completely happy about it, but I think it was just something that needed to happen."

As for any competition brewing between Allen and Lambert...

Kris Allen's Time Is Running Out

It's no fancy-schmancy album cover art, but it sure is pretty.

American Idol champ Kris Allen has unveiled the music video for his first single, "Live Like We're Dying," and overall, it's pretty standard. A guitar-wielding Allen performs his song in the middle of the desert on a larger-than-life-size digital clock, while countless unexplained tattered and torn curtains blow in the wind around him.

You know, that old chestnut.

The former Idoler does what he can to turn up the heat on the small screen, at one point literally throwing what looks to be a gigantic fireball.

On the other hand, as videos of the coffeehouse variety go, it's not too shabby.

You decide: Does this debut make a big splash or is it just another drop in the bucket?

DioGuardi: Ellen DeGeneres Is So Right for Idol

More from Marc Malkin

Ellen DeGeneres may do a fine job defending herself against critics who don't think she's qualified to be a judge on American Idol, but that doesn't mean her supporters are going to sit back and let her do all the work.

"She loves the show, she loves music, and she's a star," fellow judge Kara DioGuardi says. "You got to be a star to win the show."

And she continued…

Kris Allen Follows the Script With New Single

He didn't exactly have the most positive things to say about his American Idol winner's single. But Kris Allen has since abandoned soppy cliché and taken a turn for the coffeehouse with his first official release from his forthcoming debut album.

The pop-rock anthem "Live Like We're Dying" got its first airing on the radio this morning and, as these things do, quickly made its way online.

And while it may sound like Allen is doing his darndest to channel his onetime cheerleader Jason Mraz, it's actually the footsteps of The Script that the Idol is following in: The tune is a cover of a B-side from the Irish rockers. (Though, as the judges' panel would no doubt note, he didn't exactly make it his own, dawg.)

At least this time he can't blame Kara DioGuardi. But hey, if it was originality America was after, they probably would have voted for that other guy.

Take a listen and let us know: Is the single catchy and fun or uninspired karaoke?

Idol's Idols React to Paula Abdul's Departure

Shock seems to be the word on most peoples' lips as they react to Paula Abdul's announcement that she won't be returning to American Idol for a ninth season.

"I was shocked," Ryan Seacrest said on his radio show this morning. "I'm just bummed because we've worked together for so many years."

Like everyone else, the Idol host wasn't privy to the information until Abdul posted her departure on Twitter. He was eating dinner when word hit the Net.

"I got on the phone to track down whoever I could before I went to sleep and I was told, 'Yeah, it's sad but true. She's leaving,' " he said. "This week, Randy, Simon, Kara and I are in Denver at the end of the week so I'm sure I'll have more to tell you."

And, just in case you are jumping to the same conclusion as many, Seacrest assures fans that, as far as he knows, this is "not a publicity stunt."

Added cojudge Randy Jackson in a statement today: "I am shocked [dawg]. Paula is a dear friend and will be missed."

And they aren't the only Idol stars saddened by the loss. Kris Allen, Danny Gokey and others have already shared their grief with the Twitterverse…

Kris Allen & Adam Lambert Talk "No Boundaries"

Cutting Kara DioGuardi's "No Boundaries" from the American Idol tour was a no-brainer for Kris Allen.

"Taking that out is kind of helping my set a little bit," Allen explained to us this morning as he and Adam Lambert picked up their new Ford vehicles at Galpin Ford just outside of Los Angeles. "It gave it a little bit more energy…It just felt like a better fit to put something else in."

Critics and fans have pretty much trashed "No Boundaries," which DioGuardi cowrote, ever since it debuted as the American Idol victory song during the finale in May. Allen has replaced it with The Killers' "All These Things That I've Done."

"Everyone knows that song," Lambert said. "It's really great."

Our favorite singing bromancers also talked about which Idol alums they'd like to work with...

Adam Lambert & Kris Allen: They Want to Record Together!

For the next three months or so, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen will be spending a lot of time with each other as they crisscross the country on the American Idol tour.

It's no wonder that the two say we shouldn't be surprised if, in the end, they decide to record a song together.

"It could happen," Lambert told me Friday during my exclusive sit-down with him and Allen. "Maybe we'll write a song on the road."

Allen smiled, "We have to figure it out, but yeah, we should do it."

No surprise that the American Idol winner and runner-up have become as tight as any two best friends could be. So just how close are they?

I just sat down with Kris Allen and Adam Lambert. While we chatted about many things, I could not help but first ask them about Michael Jackson.

In fact, on Monday, Fox will reair this year's Jackson-themed performance night, when Allen sang "Remember the Time," and Lambert belted out "Black or White."

The first album Allen ever owned was Jackson's Dangerous from 1991…
