Fey, Timberlake, Fallon, Whedon Strike Comedy Gold at Creative Arts Emmys
The big winner at Saturday's Creative Arts Emmys?
Sarah Palin. Tina Fey. The bespectacled funnylady's spot-on Saturday Night Live spoofin' of a certain veep wannabe earned her an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress, Comedy.
You betcha.
"This would not be possible without Mrs. Palin...[who is] an inspiration to working mothers everywhere," Fey said as she picked up the prize. She also gave a shout-out to "my parents, who are lifelong Republicans, for their patience."
"They thought the first four sketches were very funny and the last two, enough already," said Fey, who stands to collect more hardware at next weekend's Primetime Emmys.
Meanwhile, all that booty-shaking with Beyoncé and mother-loving with Susan Sarandon paid off for Justin Timberlake...
The Kate Gosselin Story Starring Kathy Griffin
We all knew it was coming—Kathy Griffin in a cheap Kate Gosselin wig and bikini (she's almost as bad as a Kardashian with all the bikini posing).
Ever since Kate became the saint of the Gosselin family, everyone's been so easy on her. So it is kinda nice to see the return of old Kate we knew and hated so much before Jon started taking our attention.
You remember her, right? The eye-rolling, fame-whoring, water-denying all-around put-out mom. Ah, those were the days.
And yes, there is a J.Goss cameo courtesy of George Takei. Enjoy!
Or don't enjoy because there are eight adorable kids mixed up in all this. It's up to you!

Link Party: Hermaphrodite Rumors Offend Lady Gaga's Lady Parts
• About those hermaphrodite rumors, Lady Gaga tells an Australian radio station Nova 106.9: "My beautiful vagina is very offended. I'm not offended; my vagina is offended. I'm not embarrassed—I sold 4 million records in 6 months; I'm not embarrassed about anything. I think more than anything, it's society's reaction to a strong woman. The idea that we equate strength with men and a penis is a symbol of male strength, you know, it's just what it is. But like I said, I'm not offended at all, but my vagina might be a little bit upset."
• So they're making a Jon & Kate porn. And here's Kathy Griffin, always one to do whatever she can to show off her bikini body, dressed up as Kate for a Jimmy Kimmel skit. Hmmm, what's worse?
• This is how Jessica Alba's daughter, Honor, dresses. Let's just say she's no Suri Cruise.
• Kim Kardashian blogged: "I want a baby!!!!" She always knows exactly how to bring the attention back to her.

Kathy Griffin's Teen Date: Bristol Palin's Baby Daddy!
Kathy Griffin definitely gets the award for most genius date at this year's Teen Choice Awards.
The My Life on the D-List star brought Bristol Palin's baby daddy, Levi Johnston!
Griffin joked that the two have been a couple for quite some time now. "Long-distance relationships are not easy, especially when he's in his igloo and I'm in my Hollywood tower," she said as they made their way down the fake-green-grass arrivals carpet.
Johnston was a man of few words...
Kathy Griffin Will Host the Schmemmys!
The haters can suck it. Well, them and, if history is any indication, Ryan Seacrest.
None other than Kathy Griffin herself has been lined up to host the 2009 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, a ceremony she's lovingly christened the "Schmemmys," this fall.
No stranger to the show, the My Life on the D-List star has not only taken home the award for Outstanding Reality Program for the past two years (take that, Cesar Millan), she's walked away with the night's biggest headlines, as well—first, for an acceptance speech in which she saw fit to tell Jesus in no uncertain terms to "suck it," and secondly for both cussing out her peers and opining on the merits of making love to her statue.
(If that's how she feels about her Emmys, what will she say about her Tater Top?)
"We're thrilled, as Kathy's the first Emmy winner to host the Creative Arts show," ceremony producer Spike Jones Jr. said. "She stole the show the last two years, so now, we're giving her the opportunity to officially hijack it. We're all very, very excited. And just a little bit scared."
Pity the poor network in charge of manning the delay button on that ceremony. Oh, wait...while the ceremony takes place Sept. 12, the show will be edited down and aired as a two-hour special on E! later that month.

Letterman (Sort of) Apologizes to Palin: "They're Just Jokes"
Guess this means the Palins are a Conan-favoring household.
David Letterman, under the watchful eyes of a suddenly and long-deserved surging home audience, offered up his best attempt at an apology last night after a self-proclaimed stupid human trick of his own failed to go down as well as he would have liked—or exactly as he intended—with the governor of Alaska.
Responding to derisive statements issued by Sarah and Todd Palin in response to Monday night's monologue and Top 10 List (the Top 10 Highlights of Sarah Palin's Trip to New York City), Letterman agreed last night that his jokes pertaining to one of the Palin daughters were "questionable," but didn't exactly take them back.
Instead, he clarified and then repeated them, to even more laughter than they earned the first time around.
"Keep in mind, I can't really defend these," he said in his more than eight-minute mea culpa to Palin, whom he deemed "an absolutely lovely woman."
"They're just jokes."

Twitterverses: Stars Tweet Out Against Prop 8 Ruling
The disappointment lightning bolt is streaking its way through Hollywood today following the California Supreme Court's ruling to uphold Proposition 8. Gay marriage will remain outlawed, and the stars remain outraged. Let's go to the tweets.
Dollhouse lovely Eliza Dushku says, "Shame on California Supreme Court!"
Alyssa Milano calls this "a sad day for equality," while Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist starlet Kat Dennings says, "This is disgusting."
One Tree Hill's Bryan Greenberg shares his frustration and empathy: "Cali Supreme court are you kidding me?! If 2 people love each other and wanna get married it's fine by me." Another Hill hottie—this time MTV's Holly Montag—is also angered: "BOO CALI! Our Bill of Rights and Constitution intended equal rights for ALL regardless of race, gender, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, age or creed!"
Adrianne Curry invoked the Civil Rights Movement when she figured, "Might as well tell the gays2get to the back of the bus!Equal rights for SOME!" Kelly Osbourne is equally "sick to think that people cant have equal rights!"
Emmy Rossum is attempting to rally the troops in protest, Fran Drescher is sad-facey because "Iowa is now way cooler," and Diablo Cody and Meghan McCain are using words we try not to print here to express their feelings on the subject.
Kathy Griffin, meanwhile, is already gearing up for the anti-8 rallies. "Like I'm not gonna be there... Please! Don't insult my inner gay boy."
$2 Million Makes Kathy Griffin A-List Author
Kathy Griffin may claim to live her Life on the D-List, but one book purveyor thinks she's worth much more than that.
The Emmy-winning comic just signed a deal with Ballantine, an imprint of Random House, to write her memoirs for an advance rumored to be worth more than $2 million.
"Yes, Ballentine did buy Kathy Griffin's book, but we do not confirm advances," the publisher tells E! News.
The New York Observer claims to have three sources close to the deal who say Griffin sold the tell-all at auction for the eye-popping sum.
This isn't the first time a funnylady scored a big book deal. Tina Fey signed one last year for a rumored $5 million-$6 million.
GLAAD Smiles at Milk, Betty, Tyra, Ellen & Portia
Ellen DeGeneres, Kathy Griffin and Tyra Banks, yes. But don't forget Gus Van Sant, Woody Allen and Guy Ritchie, who all did the gay community quite a good turn last year, as well.
The directors' latest films—Milk, Vicky Cristina Barcelona and RocknRolla—are among the movies that will be vying for Outstanding Wide Release Film at the 20th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, handed out by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation to honor film, television, music, theater, and print and digital media for "fair, accurate and inclusive representation" of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender population and the issues affecting their lives.
Peter Sollett's hipster-friendly Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and Julian Jarrold's adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's Brideshead Revisited round out the nominees for top film in wide release.
Keanu Saddles Up for Cowboy Bebop
Keanu Reeves is going intergalactic again.
He of the comforting monotone has hitched his wagon to 20th Century Fox's big-screen adaptation of the acclaimed Japanese anime series Cowboy Bebop, which is set in 2071, 50 years after a massive lunar explosion decimated Earth's population and necessitated the colonization of the entire solar system.
Thanks to greater than usual logistical issues, an elite team of Old West-style bounty hunters, or cowboys, is needed to keep the peace.
Per the Hollywood Reporter, Reeves is attached to play Spike Siegel, a reformed criminal turned space cowboy and copilot of the Bebop, who, like a character from the actor's past, is well-versed in kung fu and other combat skills but is toting around quite a few personal demons.
No word yet on who's in line to play Spike's copilot, Jet Black, a onetime Inter-Solar System cop with a mechanical arm, but so far we're liking the whole Firefly-Battlestar Galactica-Bill & Ted vibe.

Kathy Griffin on Clay Aiken: "He Was Not Very Nice"
Kathy Griffin really wants to be friends with Clay Aiken, but it doesn't sound like the American Idol warbler wants anything to do with her.
The loudmouth comedian says she tried to make good with Aiken—whom she pegged "Gayken" in her standup act long before he came out of the closet—backstage during Rosie O'Donnell's Thanksgiving variety show.
Read on for the not-so-pleasant details.
