Which One of the New Kids Is Replacing Katherine Heigl on Grey's Anatomy?

Relax, kiddos! We've gotten your frantic emails and tweets, and despite what last week's Grey's Anatomy ep may have led you to believe, Izzie Stevens and Katherine Heigl are not leaving Seattle Grace for good.
(Show runner Shonda Rhimes even tweeted reassurance that the blond superdoc will return when she's done getting to know her adorable new baby and shooting Life as We Know It with Josh Duhamel.)
But that doesn't mean the next few weeks are going to be any less painful for abandoned husband Alex (Justin Chambers) or the rest of the original gang.
Not only are the wounds from George O'Malley's death still fresh, but we get the feeling—after exclusively chatting with Sarah Drew, who plays one of the eeevil Mercy Westers—that the superambitious new kids are going to be fighting tooth and nail to fill the vacuum left by Izzie's absence...

T.R. Knight Has a Very Good Reason Why He's Not Watching Grey's Anatomy

T.R. Knight hasn't really been keeping up with Grey's Anatomy.
And it has nothing to do with not being on the show anymore or even the not-so-nice ending he had with Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes.
"Right now I'm working on a house so the TV is in a box, so unfortunately I don't know a lot of what's going on right now," Knight told us yesterday at L.A.'s Mark Taper Forum theater, where he's starring in the musical Parade (opening on Sunday, Oct. 4). "I have to catch up."

Is this the reason Izzie Stevens is getting laid off in the Seattle Grace-Mercy West hospital merger?
We kid! First of all, we're not that shallow, and second, it's actually a lot better than the first attempt at a new 'do for Katherine Heigl's cancer-surviving character.
(We know you haven't forgotten that monstrosity.)
Izzie actually rocks this pixie cut well, so well, in fact, it almost makes us wonder if it's not supposed to be a wig at all. Is it possible that her lovely blond locks are growing back in already?
Either way, we're happy to see Izzie donning that white coat, because she's definitely on her way out as doc for the foreseeable future.

Sightings: January Jones Is Mad for...Sharks?!

Who would ever have imagined that January Jones is brave enough to jump into the ocean to swim with sharks?
But that's exactly what she did recently in the Bahamas with Oceana, an environmental group dedicated to protecting the world's oceans. She hoped to send a message that sharks are not only vital to ocean life, but they're also not as scary as most people think.
"It's exhilarating," Jones told me yesterday at Variety's Power of Women luncheon, where she was honored for her work with Oceana. "They're beautiful creatures and to be in that close proximity with them was a dream come true."

At the premiere of Law Abiding Citizen, his new movie featuring many shirtless scenes, the hot Scot told us what he gives up to get his body camera-ready.
"I wanna eat my potatoes and French fries and sponge cakes," he moaned to E! News. "When I play a role like this, I can't have my carbs and it makes me crazy."

You know who else is a healthy eater? His Bounty costar Jennifer Aniston, who he insists is just a BFF.
"I love her to death," he told E! News. "She's the coolest and she's become a great friend, but there's nothing going on. And if there was, I'd be happy to say it!"

Well, if there's one person who might actually provide an incentive for the Grey's Anatomy star to stop lighting up, it's her newly adopted daughter, Naleigh.

ABC just released a new promo still of Katherine Heigl's Izzie Stevens from the Oct. 1 episode of Grey's Anatomy. The ep, which is titled "I Always Feel Like Somebody's Watchin' Me," focuses on Izzie's recovery and apparently on a fishy wig...
Katherine Heigl Shows Us the Baby!

Last week Katherine Heigl stopped by Ellen DeGeneres' show to announce she and husband Josh Kelley were adopting a little Korean girl.
And now she would like to share pictures of 10-month-old Nancy Leigh or, as Heigl notes on her Jason Heigl Foundation website, "She will go by the nickname Naleigh."
The three make such an adorable family, it's definitely going to make it harder to get angry at Katherine for all her entitled complaining.
So congrats! May the future be filled with many more touching family photos where everyone wears complementary-colored (but not matchy-matchy!) sweaters.

Katherine Heigl's family tree is sprouting a new limb.
The Grey's Anatomy star, whose impending hiatus makes so much more sense now, is planning to adopt a baby girl with her singer-songwriter hubby Josh Kelley.
Congratulations to the parents-to-be!
In a sit-down with Ellen DeGeneres, airing tomorrow on Ellen, Heigl says that their child, whom they've only seen pictures of so far, is from Korea and will be 10 months old at the end of the month. They have named her Naleigh.
"I just dropped that one," Heigl said of the name, which she says is a hybrid of her mom's and sister's names, Nancy and Leigh. "Anyway, I'm sure that's fine. We have to meet her first."

When you're throwing a baby shower, it can't hurt to have a doctor in the house…or at least someone who plays one on TV.
Katherine Heigl served as host for Ellen Pompeo's baby shower Saturday afternoon, offering her Los Angeles home as the location for the mother-to-be's bash.
Rebecca Gayheart, Kate Walsh and Sandra Oh were among the 25 guests in attendance at the outdoor, umbrella-embellished event, according to People.com. Pink floral arrangements and candles adorned tables to herald the impending arrival of Pompeo and hubby Chris Ivery's baby girl in October.
The Grey's Anatomy star donned a flowy white dress and racked up gifts wrapped in pink and yellow, including a Sleep Sheep toy mobile, Sleepy Safari stacking toys, organic hooded towels and a Kiddopotamus organic swaddle wrap.
