Trista Sutter on The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose: Jil & Ed Are "True Lovebirds"

________
With last night's "After the Final Rose" reunion special, the fifth season of The Bachelorette finally came to a close. There were twists and turns galore, with revelations of hidden agendas, surprising departures and emotional returns of those who weren't ready to leave.
Although she couldn't have guessed she'd be part of the most dramatic season to date, I have little doubt that Jillian would change a thing. In the end, it appears she found what she was looking for: a best friend to share her life with. Ed literally swept her off her feet and hopefully will meet her at the end of a beautiful aisle someday soon.

Dun, dun, dun...It's finale recap time!
For 10 weeks, we've been watching Jillian's search for love. Yes, it's a television show that is out for ratings, but like millions of Americans, I continue to believe that two people can meet and fall in love under the harsh glare of reality-TV cameras.
Isn't that why we are all tuned in on Monday nights? The hope that love will win out, even in the most unusual and bizarre set of circumstances? Well, that's why I have my TiVo set! Am I biased? Sure. But when I look into the beautiful eyes of my children, I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that love from a TV setup is most definitely possible. Will it be a reality for Jillian? Only time will tell. For now, though, I just want to see a happy ending to a crazy courtship.

Last night's Bachelorette was set in Spain, and not that I'm complaining about my once-in-a-lifetime experience, but I do love to travel and have to admit that I felt a tinge of green watching this episode.
Things start off nicely before wrapping up in one of the most shocking revelations to date. Check it out...

Another week, another Bachelorette, and another blog by little ol' me. To those who have commented that they don't think of me as an expert on relationships, or even on this show for that matter, I'm right there with ya. I am far from an expert, but I guess those who hired me saw some value in my opinion. If you don't, no worries. That's the beauty of reading this on your computer: There is an off switch! Each week, I am simply asked to comment on what we see as viewers from someone who's been there.
Glad that many of you are enjoying my commentary! I don't realize how much I love writing until I sit down with my laptop every week and get the chance to release some creative juices. Thanks to those at E! Online for the opportunity as it's helping me feel like my brain is still minimally viable after having two children.
OK, now about last night's episode...

Here goes attempt No. 2 at writing down my thoughts about a little show called The Bachelorette.
After my debut post, I received lots of feedback and wanted to respond. First, glad so many of you enjoyed it! Second, if you didn't, you are completely entitled to your opinion. What E! asks me to write about is just a bit of banter from my perspective. You can take it or leave it. Last, I wish I could comment on what is happening behind the scenes, but since I wasn't able to leave my life to be a fly on the wall, you'll have to accept that I'm just a viewer reporting on things the way I see them. Enjoy (or not)!
