Hours after her rep claimed Paris and Benji Madden were still together, the heiress' camp was forced to come clean and confirm to E! News that she and the rocker have indeed called it quits, after one of Paris' My New BFF contestants spilled the beans to a weekly.
"Paris and Benji have split," Vanessa Fontana tells Life & Style of their nine-month relationship. "I love Paris, and I just want her to be happy. I think that they'll be better as friends."
The BFF with the big mouth continued to blab that nothing happened between Paris and ex-beau Stavros Niarchos in Miami.
"Paris and Benji were loyal and faithful to each other," she continued.
Hilton's rep tells us that she and Stav "are just friends."
Paris herself stayed mum on the topic when plagued by questions from paps yesterday, so doubt she'll be happy to hear that one of her supposed besties blabbed to a weekly before Hilton decided to say anything.
"She was just so busy lately and her work and travel schedule made it difficult for them to be together," a source close to Hilton says. "She’s really very saddened by the split and wants some time to be alone and really focus on herself right now and her work."
