Getting Wet at the Mondrian

“Water is sexy,” Molly Sims tells me when she arrives at the Mondrian’s Skybar. I know Molly looked sexy being photographed in the ocean for Sports Illustrated, but I’ve never heard the waves themselves characterized as such.
“I just love water,” the model and Las Vegas star explains. “I make sure I drink it often.” To ensure the avid swimmer has her sexy water forever, Molly has partnered up with pal Rebecca Gayheart and Women's Health to host the mag’s Premiere "Blue Issue" Event. This party, as well as next month’s issue of the mag, aims to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our waters.

Appropriately, the outdoor bar is illuminated with blue lighting and flat screens showing images of flowing liquid. Upstairs, guests like Kevin Connolly enjoy glasses of agua served by beautiful women wearing '50s-style bathing suits. Though Rebecca’s hubby Eric Dane isn’t around to turn water into McSteaminess tonight, she’s still happy to talk about their relationship. “We swim, we water ski, we scuba dive, we snorkel,” she says, leaving me to daydream about how beautiful the two must look in the ocean. “We do lots of beach vacations together and make things fun for each other.” Maybe she can give Molly some tips, because the gal seems very distant from her nonfamous boyfriend tonight. I know the two don’t want to be a public couple, but can a quick kiss hurt that much?

Paris Hilton parades inside after she finishes up at Smashbox Studios. (I’m still in shock that she attended the Petro Zillia fashion show but not the one for her sister Nicky’s Chick line.) Clad in a blue silk jumpsuit, she chats up deejay of the night Samantha Ronson. But the heiress can’t stay for long—there are more appearances to be made. A Victoria’s Secret kegger’s going down in Beverly Hills! And since Strong Medicine’s Rosa Blasi just informed me she partook in Spring Break wet T-shirt concerts back in the day, I’m craving the college scene. So, I take Paris’ lead and swim off to the next event.
