Nick Hogan Set for Early Release

Springtime for Nick Hogan is coming this fall.

The former reality star and son of Hulk Hogan will be released three months earlier than expected from Pinellas County Jail, thanks to credits for behind-bars working and good behavior, E! News has confirmed.

All told, the 18-year-old Hogan, born Nick Bollea, will serve just five months of the eight-month sentence he received last May. The punishment was handed down after he pleaded no contest to one count of reckless driving involving serious bodily injury for a 2007 high-speed DUI crash that left his passenger, John Graziano, severely injured.

County officials said the early release schedule was not an example of special treatment for the celeb offspring but standard procedure for nonmisbehaving inmates.

Over the summer, Hogan was moved from solitary confinement to the general inmate population, the jail's 18th birthday gift to the teen.

As for what Hogan may do when he's released, leaked phone conversations between him and his father earlier this year intimated that he may be looking to tell his story via a new reality show. But his sister, Brooke Hogan, told People she's just looking forward to her brother being a free man.

"I'm not sure where he'll live," she said. "I think he's going to do his own thing."

But while Hogan will be free from lockup earlier than expected, his sentence is far from complete. He still must complete five years' probation, 500 hours of community service and steer clear of alcohol.
