Scotty McCreery already got the country's approval when he took the American Idol title yesterday.

And last night, he got props from another past Idol winner, who said he wasn't at all surprised by Scotty's succes. Plus, more from the Idol afterparty!

"I think Scotty did his thing all year and kept it who he was and it worked out," season eight winner Kris Allen told us last night outside the postshow party in Hollywood.

And don't cry for runner-up Lauren Aliana. One major music mogul said he'd be interested in signing her or Scotty.

"Absolutely," Interscope honcho and Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine replied when asked if he'd want to make a deal with either of them.

Bono, who performed on the finale, also hit the soiree at the W Hotel, as did Casey Abrams, but Lady Gaga and Beyoncé skipped the festivities.

Then again, you can't really blame them for calling it a night early. Beyoncé just got back from an epic show at the Billboards in Vegas and Gaga has been relentlessy making the media rounds in support of her latest album.
