Fiery singer dishes on her solo status and recent collaboration with Britney Spears while being honored at a charity gala

Rihanna is sexy, single and ready to mingle!

The red-hot singer was a guest of honor at last night's DKMS charity gala and made it clear that she's really loving her solo status since her split with Matt Kemp. "Who doesn't enjoy being single?!" she saucily shot back when asked what her favorite part of being unattached is.

Cheers to that, girlfriend! And although she's unattached as of late in the romantic sense, she did discuss her quickie hookup with another major celebrity...

The two pop divas recently teamed up for a remix of RiRi's song S&M. "We just decided we wanted to do it and we got in the studio and we did it in an hour and a half!" she told reporters inside Cipriani's Wall Street last night.

Although Rihanna was being honored at the benefit for her work with the leukemia charity, she got to enjoy a performance instead of putting on one herself, for once.

Mary J. Blige sang inside the soiree while Solange Knowles DJ'd for a chic crowd that included Leighton Meester, Eva Mendes and Pharrell Williams.

Next up for Rihanna: she's launching her Reb'l Fleur fragrance this afternoon at Macy's in Herald Square.

"I'm looking forward to having my fans wear it and love it and smell like me!" she told reporters.

As for why she decided to dye her locks such a bright and crazy hue?

"Because red is badass!" she replied. Indeed!
