She's (almost) always on the list

Famous Friends Fete Pharrell

Pharrell's not only a power producer and singer, he's also got his own L.A. store—and it's attracting a slew of famous fans.

Last night was the West Coast grand opening of his Bape Store on Melrose, which brought out the likes of Kanye West, Jermaine Dupri and Pete Wentz—as well as Nicole Richie and Joel Madden. (It was a busy night for the new parents, who took advantage of being sans baby to hit Charlotte Ronson's dinner party at the Roosevelt.)

But it was Kanye—and not Nicole—who tried to steal Pharrell's thunder in the middle of an interview with E! News on his big night...

Kanye interrupted to sound off about how the media twists his words and the truth never gets out. 'Ye told E! he's done with the media for a while—but he wouldn't say how long his ban would be in effect. For the real deal, he directed fans to his blog.

So let's get this straight: You're taking over someone else's interview to tell the media that you're not talking to the media anymore? Hmmm...sounds like someone's trying to get more page views!

For more from the party, tune in to E! News tonight at 7p.m.
