UPDATE: Samantha Ronson's attorney, David Bass, tells People that his client "has no plan to request a restraining order. There is no basis for one."

They may be taking a break, but that hasn't stopped the Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson drama train from forging ahead.

While the starlet came clean Monday about the separated status of her long-term love, the DJ's mother, Ann Dexter-Jones, and sister Charlotte were looking into the process of getting a restraining order against her.

"I can confirm for you that on Monday, April 6, 2009, at approximately 5 p.m., members of Samantha Ronson's family came to the Beverly Hills Police Department," BHPD spokeswoman Cheryl Burnett tells E! News. "They were given information about the process for obtaining a restraining order, which would be administered at the Santa Monica Superior Courthouse."

So far, though, no such legal papers have been filed, according to a public information officer for the court.

The "break" and restraining order inquiry follow a rough weekend that saw LiLo barred from a Ronson family party (which led to a Chateau Marmont meltdown) and SamRo changing her locks.

News of the restraining order request was first reported by OK! magazine, which quoted Charlotte Ronson as saying Lohan "does all these [crazy] things to get attention."

Sources close to Lohan had previously blamed the Ronson family for trying to come between Lindsay and Samantha.

Monday night, Ronson was spotted having dinner alone and texting away on her phone at the Strip House at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, while Lohan was huddling with her mother and sister in Los Angeles.
