"Shattered" Brinkley Takes Stand in Divorce Trial
Dealing with the fallout of her husband's betrayal didn't feel like a death to just Christie Brinkley, it felt like one to her friends, too.
The erstwhile cover girl took the stand during the second day of testimony in her public divorce trial from philandering architect Peter Cook Thursday, testifying as to her confrontation with Cook and subsequent reaction after learning of his affair with an 18-year-old staffer.
"I just said to Peter, 'How could you?' " she said on the stand, making her testimony all the more poignant by choosing that moment to look at Cook head-on for the first time in the two-day trial.
Nicky's Happy Birthday Haterade for LiLo
Usually, the feuding is left to big sis Paris. But it was Nicky Hilton who snidely replied "no" (followed by giggling) when paps asked the 24-year-old if she wanted to wish Lindsay Lohan a happy birthday Wednesday night.
Perhaps Nicky's just standing by her sister's side, given the ongoing feud between her and LiLo. But apparently Paris' boy-toy Benji Madden doesn't feel the same sense of loyalty—he accompanied brother Joel to Lindsay's 22nd B-day soiree at Teddy's.
Madonna's Bro Gets Job With Janice Dickinson
Janice Dickinson has chosen Camp Christopher over Camp Madonna.
Just weeks after Madge's estranged brother, Christopher Ciccone, plans to release his July 15 memoir, Life With My Sister, he'll appear on the season premiere of The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency.
No, he's not a model, but...
O'Donnell's Marriage Still Rosie
Rosie O'Donnell's marriage is not on the rocks, thankyouverymuch.
Never one to back away from a public war of words, O'Donnell has lashed out at a rumor started by veteran Page Six gossip maven Cindy Adams alleging O'Donnell's marriage to Kelli Carpenter had hit the skids.
"I called Rosie this morning, and she said she thinks Cindy Adams is a lesbian but doesn't know it yet," O'Donnell's rep, Cindi Berger, told E! News. "Rosie said she's leaving Kelly for Cindy."
If nothing else, that ought to sell some papers.
Pamela on Jessica: Just Kidding!
If ya think there's a blonde-on-blonde battle brewing between Pamela Anderson and Jessica Simpson, think again.
Reports that Anderson has lashed out against Simpson for wearing a T-shirt recently that read "Real Girls Eat Meat" have been greatly exaggerated...
Spencer vs. M.K.: Bruising Battle of the Sorta Stars
Nothing we like better than a feud between a couple of our favorite fame wisps. So we're digging it that Hills hunk (of something) Spencer Pratt is bashing back at Mary-Kate Olsen:
"I know I've made it in Hollywood when a famous troll is talking about me on Letterman," Pratt said in an interview.
You may recall that Mary-Kate told Dave that Spencer had a bad temper in high school and agreed with Letterman that Spencer is "wormy." (If you missed M.K.'s diss-a-thon, no worries, check out the clip below.)
Warner Bros. Calls Off Aniston-Jolie Face-Off
Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston's box-office face-off has been called off.
The big-screen showdown (and de facto blogger field day) was originally set for Oct. 24, the day both Changeling, starring Jolie, and He's Just Not That Into You, starring Aniston and a host of other A-listers, were set to open.
Which means Brad Pitt will remain the only person forced to choose between the two.
Ice-T Would Like to Apologize (We Think)
Have you been following the Soulja Boy versus Ice-T rap battle?
Yeah, neither have we.
However, that shouldn't prevent you from checking out this highly entertaining—and extremely NSFW—apology from Ice-T, in which the veteran hip-hop artist, Law & Order actor and Body Count provocateur unleashes a blistering mea culpa to teen rapper Soulja Boy for saying...well, something we won't repeat.
We take no sides in this rap feud, but we are deeply, deeply sincere in our hope that no one will ever apologize to us like this. We might just start crying.
Naomi Angered by "Golliwog Supermodel" Taunt
You probably know that Naomi Campbell pled guilty yesterday to assaulting police officers after a mid-air disturbance on British Airways. If you missed it, get all the details in our news story here.
But here's some backstory from Britain's Sky News (via gossip guy Perez). Yes, Naomi admits she was wrong, but she has more to say about why she went off:
Keith Olbermann, Have I Got News for You!
Come on, Keith Olbermann, would it be too much to admit you get your info from E! Online?
The MSNBC host devoted time tonight to my Jennifer Hudson interview on his show, Countdown With Keith Olbermann. He riffed on Hudson saying she wanted to help Barack Obama win the presidency but hadn't heard from his camp.
What he doesn't do is credit the Hudson story where he got her remarks about Obama. Check out the video above starting at about 4:22 and see for yourself.
Glad you liked the story, Keith. If you need any more scoop, you know where to find me.
Charlie Sorry for Dropping an N-Bomb on Denise
Charlie Sheen is sorry for slurring his speech. For the most part.
Although the N-bomb, multiple F-words and one of the nastier misogynist terms Sheen used in two voicemails left for Denise Richards in April 2005 were fully documented as part of their divorce proceedings, recently revealed audio recordings of the messages prompted the sitcom star to apologize for blowing his top in such a vile manner.
"I deeply apologize by my choice of words to all I have obviously offended, especially to Tony Todd, an African American, who was my best man at my first two weddings," Sheen said in a statement released Wednesday by his publicist.
Ricki Lake Delivers Response to Birth Controversy
The American Medical Association has really rattled Ricki Lake.
The actress and producer of the recent documentary The Business of Being Born is firing back at the national group in light of its pointed criticism of the idea of employing midwives and having babies at home rather than in a hospital—an option that worked for Lake when she welcomed her second son in 2001.
"It feels like a personal attack," Lake told the New York Daily News Tuesday. "I can't imagine they are scared everyone will have a home birth because I did. The message of the film is about having all the choices in birth, it's about getting information and being empowered."
