Rearview Review: Star Trek for the Rest of Us
This is coming from a guy who knows nothing of Romulans and Vulcans: Star Trek rocks—seen it twice already. But how much exactly? And is this Chris Pine guy really movie-star material?
Hit the clip to get my instant take, recorded moments after I split from the theater. It's a new feature we're calling Rearview Reviews.

Video Mashup! The Men of Star Trek Totally Time-Warp
You gotta hand it to Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine and J.J. Abrams: The Star Trek stars and their mastermind have been talking and talking about this new flick for years. And we've been there, getting it on-camera since the summer of 2007.
So here's a video mashup of two years of interviews: Quinto from Comic-Con, Pine at Sundance, Abrams admitting he's not a "Trekker." And dig Pine getting his hands on his own action figure for the first time, and Quinto finally nailing that "Live Long and Prosper" hand sign.
Check the clip, then hit the jump for the newest interviews, where Abrams offers big love for the original series, and I confront Pine about stealing my onion rings. Seriously.
Watchmen Director Talks Sequel? Well, Kinda
After killing off pretty much his entire cast in 300, director Zack Snyder took on Watchmen, which—spoiler alert!—doesn't exactly play like the first film in a superhero franchise. So which of his big-budget flicks is best set up for a sequel? I asked Snyder when we sat down to talk Watchmen this week, so hit the clip to see what he says.
And then check out my interview with pretty much the entire cast—Carla Gugino, Billy Crudup, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and more—below:
Comic-Con: Terminator's McG Talks Bale, 'Bots
McG doesn't give a lot of interviews, so listen up. Over the weekend, the Terminator Salvation director talked to me about the four minutes of man vs. machine action he previewed for thousands of fans at San Diego Comic-Con. He also spilled about how he got Terminator maestro James Cameron's blessing, whether star Christian Bale can pull off being both Batman and John Connor, and the deal with the rumored Arnold Schwarzenegger cameo. Check the clip to get the full story.
Comic-Con: Wahlberg Talks Tough, Calls Out Trekkies
Mark Wahlberg handled the fans at San Diego Comic-Con masterfully, but first I grilled the tough guy on his game-turned-action flick Max Payne. He admits to having zero comic book and video-game knowledge, and that the crowd here is a little intimidating. He even throws out a challenge to Trekkies. Check out the clip to see what I mean.
Comic-Con: Paris Hilton Talks Repo!, Benji & Acting
In her first trip to Comic-Con, Paris Hilton stopped in San Diego last night and talked to fans about her outlandish musical, Repo! The Genetic Opera. Along with director Darren Lynn Bousman, she took a few minutes to tell me about her audition, acting ambitions and whether Benji Madden helped her prep for the rock opera. Hit the clip for the full story.
X-Files Stars Talk Romance, Beards and Winehouse
It has been six years since their supernatural show went off the air, but David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson still have that Mulder-Scully chemistry going. As The X-Files: I Want to Believe opens this week, I sat down with the stars to talk about fast-growing facial hair, their characters' relationship and, like, how they feel about Amy Winehouse. Check the clip to get the full story.
