We're happy to report that Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss is holding up OK these days.

As most know, the 33-year-old's former fiancé, Ashley "A.J." Jewell, died earlier this month following a fight outside an Atlanta-area strip club. His funeral was held on Friday in Georgia.

"She's doing much better," Burruss' former Xscape bandmate and close pal Tameka "Tiny" Cottle told us last night at Philippe West Hollywood for the celebration of Kobe Bryant's L'Uomo Vogue cover. "She's a strong girl."

"I speak to her every day," she said "I go and visit her. I went to the funeral. Whenever she needs me, I'm there."

But Cottle has some drama of her own, in the form of her baby-daddy, rapper Clifford "T.I." Harris.

Rob Lowe, who costarred in the movie alongside Demi Moore, Emilio Estevez, Andrew McCarthy and others, says he wasn't aware of the new project until we asked him about it yesterday at the Emmys.

Ashley Hamilton still can't believe his good friend DJ AM is gone.

"There are a lot of people with drug and alcohol [problems] that if you heard they died, you'd be like, 'Yeah, I saw that coming,' " Hamilton just told me during a break from his training for the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars. "But people like Adam [Goldstein], you just didn't see it f--king coming. That's what's so shocking about it."

Katy Perry performed "Like a Virgin" with DJ AM and Travis Barker at last year's MTV Video Music Awards.

I caught up with Katy on Saturday night at the Palladium in Hollywood, just before she hit the stage for her show (presented by SoundsofBuzz.com and Coca-Cola).

"Every time I met him, he was such a wonderful person, full of life, very bright," she said of the late DJ. "It continues to remind everybody to live life to the fullest [and] love the people around you."

Ya heard it here first! Dr. George O'Malley is a goner.

I broke the news back in May that T.R. Knight's character on Grey's Anatomy was being killed off because the actor was leaving the show.

And now, finally, series creator Shonda Rhimes has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the young doctor will flatline forever during the season premiere, airing Sept. 24. Yes, Paris Jackson loves her dad. Yes, she misses him.

When I posted yesterday about Jackson family members insisting the young 11-year-old talk on stage at her father's Staples Center memorial service, I never doubted what she said was real and coming from the heart.

All I reported was that there are questions about whether Paris wanted to be so public about how she felt. Many readers trashed me for "attacking" Paris. I don't think I did.
