Backstage at DWTS: Joanna Admits Her Shocking Elimination "Sucks"

Dancing with the Stars, Joanna Krupa, Derek Hough ABC/ADAM LARKEY

That's gonna leave a mark.

In what can only be called the most jaw-dropping elimination so far this season on Dancing With the Stars, Joanna Krupa (who Carrie Ann Inaba thought might win) was sent packing last night.

We were backstage after the show and can tell you Joanna was feeling the sting.

"Being so close, it sucks not being able to go to the finals," Joanna tells us. "But I guess it is what it is."

Still, part of her saw it coming. "It was a hard competition and I knew that tonight anything could happen, so I was prepared for it."

Oh, and you won't believe who she and partner Derek Hough think may win…

This Just In: Neil Patrick Harris Should Rule the World

Neil Patrick Harris, Twitter

Not So Horrible: In case you turned off the Internet yesterday, you may have missed the news that Neil Patrick Harris joined Twitter. NPH finds Twitter a fascinating and strange new medium for his comedy stylings. See above for proof.

Whee, Glee! New instant-classic Glee music is available online, including a version of "Lean on Me" (we're already preparing to cry during this TV performance), a fabulous pop "Crush," and "I'll Stand by You," which we have to guess (just guess) is Cory Monteith's Finn serenading Dianna Agron's Quinn about her pregnancy and such. Loverly!

Together Again? These new photos of Chace Crawford and Taylor Momsen filming Gossip Girl in New York remind us what a cute couple Little J and Nate were way back in season two. Anybody else want to see them rekindle something once Jenny turns 18?

Taking a Break: Julianne Hough told our own Ryan Seacrest she won't be back for Dancing With the Stars season 10.

American Music Awards: E! got the exclusive scoop that our girl Kristen Bell will be a presenter at the American Music Awards this weekend, along with Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and Colbie Caillat.

Aaron Carter Cries Backstage at Dancing With the Stars

DWTS, Aaron Carter ABC/Adam Larkey

He's a sensitive soul.

That's what we can tell you after meeting up with Aaron Carter backstage at Dancing With the Stars last night, after he got the heave-ho.

Truth told, the poor guy was almost inconsolable and choked up during the interview. "Of course it's sad," he told us after the show. "You know how it is. But I'm glad we made it this far."

"It just feels empty now," his partner, Karina Smirnoff, added. "Like we were taken away."

On the flip side, another contestant was bouncing off the walls with excitement that it was Aaron who was going home. Who was it?

Backstage at DWTS: Lacey Admits She Probably Should Have Stayed Home

Dancing with the Stars, Mark Dacascos , Lacey Schwimmer ABC/CRAIG SJODIN

Let us be the first to say: We love Lacey Schwimmer. Ever since her SYTYCD days there is a special place in our dance-show-loving hearts for her.

But after hanging out with the cast of Dancing With the Stars last night after the show—in which Lacey and her partner, Mark Dacascos, were eliminated—we have to ask: Should she have been there at all?

"Healthwise, I probably shouldn't have danced tonight," Lacey admitted to us. "As of midnight last night I was not dancing. But I was not going to let [Mark] dance with someone else. This is the nicest guy you'll ever meet in your entire life."

And so you wanted to breathe your flu germs all over him and throw yet another last-minute partner switcheroo that led to his elimination? Please, fellow DWTS fans, help us figure this one out! (And get me a SARS mask while you're at it.)

So did Mark have any hard feelings?

DWTS Backstage Scoop: Judge "Shocked" by Melissa and Mark

Dancing with the Stars, Melissa Joan Hart, Mark Ballas ABC/CRAIG SJODIN

Frayed nerves and teary eyes are par for the course backstage at Dancing With the Stars...you know, when it comes to the contestants. But last night it was judge Carrie Ann Inaba who was visibly shaken after the show.

"That was a traumatic night!" she told us inside the DWTS studio. "I was shocked at Melissa and Mark. I saw some potential. I saw some sort of growth happening with her."

She's talking of course about teenage witch Melissa Joan Hart and partner Mark Ballas, who were one of two couples sent packing last night.

Carrie Ann also was still reeling from having to be the deciding vote on the other eliminee, snowboarder Louie Vito. "Why do I have to be the bad guy?!" she lamented.

Melissa herself was also shaken. "I'm bummed," she told us backstage. "You know, I'm more bummed that we didn't get to do the dance-off, 'cause I was really excited about it. Now I'm wearing all yellow and I just feel stupid."

We don't suppose the DWTS producers intentionally made the contestants dress up in silly bright costumes to further humiliate them? Naaah...

As for Louie, he admitted there is one thing he detests about DWTS:

Michael Jackson's Executors Have Poor Taste in TV Dance Shows

Michael Jackson, DWTS, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Karina Smirnoff, Cheryl Burke Kevin Mazur/Getty Images; ABC/JAMES SORENSEN; ABC/JAMES SORENSEN; AB

Hey, remember earlier this summer when Michael Jackson died and So You Think You Can Dance producer Nigel Lythgoe asked Janet Jackson's old choreographer Paula Abdul to participate in a Jackson-dance-tribute episode of SYTYCD, but then someone Jackson lackey put the kibosh on the whole thing?

No, you don't remember? Well, that happened, and at the time of the rejection, Lythgoe told reporters, "We put the music through to Sony and said, 'Sony, can we clear this music?' Yesterday, we got a note back—whether it's Sony or the [Jackson] family estate, I don't know—but they would not clear the music for us. It's very sad...for some reason, we can't do the show."

Well, it turns out that the kibosh was just temporary, because next week another popular TV dance series, ABC's Dancing With the Stars, is putting on a show dedicated to Jackson's fancy footwork. Read on to find out why Jacko's team went with DWTS instead of with SYTYCD (the show that totally called first dibs!) and why that was the wrong call...

Smallville: Producers are planning to include the Wonder Twins, Green Arrow's sidekick Speedy, the Justice Society of America and future Daily Planet boss Perry White this season.
