Joel McHale on New Love Interest: "Eat That, Patrick Dempsey!"
Joel McHale is still hot for teacher!
NBC confirms to us exclusively that former Grey's girl Lauren Stamile, who recently appeared in Community's Halloween episode as Jeff's (Joel) stats teacher, will return for a multiple-episode arc later in the season.
"Lauren played Patrick Dempsey's love interest on Grey's Anatomy and is now my love interest," Joel tells us. "So eat that, Patrick Dempsey!"
(Did we ever mention how much we love Joel McHale?)
But wait a minute. When we last saw Lauren's character Michelle, Jeff was desperately trying to hook up with her and it didn't seem to go anywhere.
So what happened? Well, we just hit the Community set and here's the juicy secret...
Spoiler Chat: Grey's Anatomy's Kevin McKidd Dishes on (And Defends!) "Love Triangle"
Cristina hates her. With a passion. And so far, it seems that some of you fans do too.
Ever since Kim Raver (whom Cristina named "Desert Storm Barbie") was introduced on Thursday's episode of Grey's Anatomy, our inbox has overflowed with messages from fans wanting to know what's next for their favorite couple, Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) and Owen (Kevin McKidd), now that Kim's character, Dr. Teddy Altman, is in the mix.
Well, we just talked to Kevin himself, and he admits that he, too, was concerned at first about the triangle, but he warmed up to it, and tells you fans why you might want to keep an open mind.
Oh, and if you want to know what's next for Glee (Christmas song!), Vampire Diaries (dish from Kevin Williamson himself) or Desperate Housewives (who won't die?), we have that too.
It's all in our latest roundup of exclusive TV scoop...
Alex in Rhode Island: Please don't tell me Kim Raver is sticking around long on Grey's Anatomy!

NBC Picks Up Community, Parks & Recreation and Mercy
Good news, Thursday-night comedy fans!
NBC has just announced that Joel McHale's Community, Amy Poehler's Parks and Recreation, and Wednesday-night medical-drama Mercy have been picked up for full seasons. The network ordered the "back nine" episodes for all three series, bringing their episode totals to 22 each.
Mercy pulls about 8 million viewers a week overall, Community leads off NBC's legendary Thursday-night comedy block with an average of 6 million viewers a week, and Parks and Recreation brings in about 5 million viewers.
We're delighted for the casts and crews of all these series, but especially the comedies, and especially Community, which stars our very own The Soup host. We caught up with the cast recently, and they spilled about what happens on set when the cameras are off and what's to come onscreen...

Joel McHale on Community: "It's a Throbbing, Pus-Filled Comedy Sore"
Oh, Joel McHale, we love you so.
Far be it for us to hog all the fun and selfishly continue plugging the brilliantness that is NBC's Community. The Peacock net has gone ahead and done the dirty work for us, recruiting the most reliable sources around—the castmembers themselves, of course!
While the rest of the gang repeadtedly refers to the fabulous show as "laugh-out-loud funny," The Soup stud takes it a step further:
"It's a throbbing, pus-filled comedy sore that is constantly oozing." Yum, sounds delish.
Hear more gems from Joel on the supersmart series above. Plus, Ken Jeong, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown and Chevy Chase sound off after the jump...

Community's Joel McHale and Chevy Chase Deliver TCA Laughs
How is Joel McHale going to balance hosting E!'s The Soup, his stand-up comedy gigs and starring in his own NBC comedy, Community?
"I take a lot of uppers and downers," Joel joked at this morning's Community panel at the Television Critics Association press tour. "No, I go in basically one long night, but the whole week I'm helping to edit the script and writing jokes." Though, he said, he doesn't get to actually watch as many shows as before. "I'm gonna miss Rock of Love Bus. What is Bret Michaels gonna do next?"
Joel and the Community crew took the TCA stage by storm this morning, chatting about their new Thursday-night show as well as about recently added castmember Ken Jeong (yes, real-life doctor turned beloved Judd Apatow muse) and Chevy Chase wanting to get it on with cutie Alison Brie? What?!
