Video: More Reasons to Love Pushing Daisies
I luff them. So. Much.
Press play below to see my Comic-Con interviews with the Pushing Daisies cast! Lee Pace blushes about Ned and Chuck, Barry Sonnenfeld takes our picture (!) and Chi McBride and Kristin Chenoweth, the cutest odd couple ever, talk about shooting with real donkeys and fake nuns.
Click below for the full story!
[P.S.: I always feel the earth move under my feet while watching Lee Pace, but it turns out there was actually an earthquake in the L.A. area right now as I was writing this. Hope you are all OK. Hugs. Be safe!]
Last but not least, as a special treat: A cute little girl at the panel asked Kristin Chenoweth to sing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," and oh, did she go for it. Click in for the video—and try not to cry!
Video: Chuck Stars Talk Season Two
What a happy cast! The Chuck kids really seem relaxed, don't they? They're on a great show; they have fans, but not paparazzi stalkers; and they all like each other. What more could you ask for from TV stardom? Want to bask in the happy, shiny of Chuck and friends? Press play to enjoy the vids below of Zachary Levi and Joshua Gomez, Ryan McPartlin and Sarah Lancaster and Adam Baldwin and Yvonne Strahovski!
Exclusive! Gretchen Mol in Final Talks for Life on Mars
"She's almost signed."
That's what inside sources tell me about the casting of ingenue Gretchen Mol on ABC's high-profile new series Life on Mars—that she's in final negotiations to play Annie, a possible love interest for leading man Jason O'Mara (most recently of Grey's Anatomy, which will serve as a lede-in to Mars).
The deal is expected to close tonight or tomorrow, and if/when it does, Mol will join O'Mara, Harvey Keitel and Michael Imperioli in the cast of the U.S. remake of the hit British series about a detective who gets hit by a car and winds up in the year 1973.
Mol's character, Annie Cartwright, is a pretty, young policewoman in the '70s who helps Sam Tyler (O'Mara) acclimate to his new world. In return for making him feel at home (not to mention, less like he's cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs), forward-thinking Sam helps Annie get ahead in the male-dominated police department.
Want more dish on Life on Mars, the U.K. version of which is easily one of the smartest series I've ever seen? Press play below on my one-on-one interview at Comic-Con with O'Mara and executive producers Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec (whom we already know and love from October Road).
Mars premieres Oct. 9 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
Meanwhile, do you agree that Gretchen's a good fit? They make a pretty hot couple, no?
Supernatural Boys Dish on New Season, Possible Spinoff
OK, count me in as Comic-Con's latest convert, because not only do the panels and the swag rule (I love you, Dexter bobble head), but I also got a little one-on-one time with the swooniest brothers the small screen has ever seen (sorry, Bo and Luke Duke): Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles of Supernatural.
Boss Eric Kripke joined the boys backstage to tackle my Q's, and the three of them spilled lots of scoop, including where the new season is heading, talk of a Ghostfacers spinoff and a 7-foot teddy bear, so click in for some Super scoop!
Nathan Fillion: The Hammer Is His Penis!
I'm sorry, I just love Captain Hammer. Sign me up to be Groupie No. 4.
I just met Nathan Fillion for the first time at Comic-Con, and now I am so printing out a pic of the Captain to add to my wall of future second husbands. He is darling.
Press play above to hear about his Wonder Woman gig (reteaming with Keri Russell from Waitress), why the Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog fans rock and what it's like to work with Clan Whedon.
Fringe Benefits of Comic-Con: Bumping Josh Jackson's Backside
The Fringe press room at Comic-Con was a little, well...chaotic. Without going into gory details, suffice to say it was a wee bit congested and frenetic, with far too many pushy crews pushing each other around, which allowed for the following happenings to go down during my long-awaited (i.e. since first year of Dawson's Creek awaited) meeting with Joshua Jackson:
- An awkward interview collision
- An impromptu game of bumber butts (And no, I am not complaining)
- A totally gross-looking smear of chocolate on my forehead during the whole damn thing
(Okay, so that third one may not have had anything to do with the packed interview room but rather the fact that I got so nervous I was finally meeting Pacey Witter I scarfed down part of a Dove chocolate bar right before sweeping my bangs out of my eyes. Our intern kindly pointed out afterward, "Don't worry. It just looked like a gross birthmark." In other words, kiill me now.)
Click above and below for the full humiliation. And hey, there's even a smidge of actual talk about that awesome new show Fringe. Bonus!
Backstage at Comic-Con: Matthew Fox Talks Lost!
Welcome to a little exclusive, one-on-one time with the one and only Mr. Matthew Fox! As previously mentioned, Foxy McFoxyPants was the supersecret surprise guest during Comic-Con's Lost panel this weekend (the fans went nuts when he arrived) and he graciously agreed to answer a few questions backstage after his appearance. (Given the amount of on-camera press this very busy movie guy has been available to do for Lost the past few years, this is the equivalent of winning the lottery—without the cursed numbers. So, yay!)
Note: It looks like the last question of the interview was edited out for time by our magical tech elves, but FYI, I asked why he's sporting the sideburns and soul patch right now, which explains my comment about him "looking the way he wants to look." He looks relaxed and happy, don't you think?

Heroes Rocks Comic-Con
Time for the Heroes panel! Hollllaaaaaaah!
And crazy enough, it was shockingly easy to get in to Hall H this morning at San Diego’s Comic-Con. (If you happen to have two slaves who’ve kindly offered to sleep on a cold, cement slab all night, waiting in “line”…Check out the photos at bottom for proof of why I would give my staff a vital organ if they asked…Wait, does an eyelash count as a vital organ?)
Who did we see? Who didn’t we see. Amazingly, the entire cast was there. What did we see? What didn’t we see? For starters, we saw the first hour of the season premiere, so click in for the big scoop!
