Kristen Bell: "My Inner Thighs Are So Sore!"
Kristen Bell is in a lot of pain these days.
"I've started dance rehearsals and my neck is sore and my inner thighs are so sore," Bell told me at last night's Vanity Fair-hosted launch of Guess?'s new T-shirt benefiting Invisible Children.
No, the actress is not training for a stint on Dancing With the Stars. She's getting ready to start shooting Burlesque, director Steve Antin's upcoming drama in which she and Christina Aguilera costar as rivals at a Hollywood burlesque club owned by a former dancer played by Cher.
Rounding out the cast is Twilight stud Cam Gigandet, Julianne Hough and Stanley Tucci.
So just how much skin will Bell and the other young starlets be flashing in the film? Sounds like a lot, but...

Julianne Hough Is Dancing Burlesque With Christina Aguilera
Julianne Hough is Burlseque-ing with the stars..
The country-music-singing former Dancing With the Stars pro has joined the cast of Burlesque, a musical about a young small-town singer (Christina Aguilera in her big-screen debut) who becomes a star at a Hollywood burlesque club owned by Tess (Cher).
I'm told Hough, who began rehearsals this weekend, will play a fellow dancer.
Sources insist this is no Showgirls redux…
Kristen Rings Christina's Bell With Burlesque Catfight
She solves crimes, she dons bikinis, she pisses off Christina Aguilera—is there nothing the suddenly omnipresent Kristen Bell can't do?
The former Veronica Mars will do battle with the ex-Mouseketeer in the musical-drama Burlesque. (No offense to Bell, but we're guessing the competition may be more dancing than singing based, because, well...because it's Christina freaking Aguilera we're talking about.)
Per the Hollywood Reporter, the film follows small-town, big-voiced Aguilera (in her big-screen debut) as she becomes the star attraction in a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club. Accordingly, the club's previous golden girl begins to spiral out of control.
The movie—directed by Steve Antin, who as brother of Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin knows of what he helms—already boasts an intriguing band of players, with Cher playing the nightclub owner and Stanley Tucci as the man behind Aguilera's country-to-city mouse transformation.
Production begins next month, with the film due out next Thanksgiving.

Wolverine Sequel Already in the Works
X marks the spot for a Wolverine sequel.
Just two days after Hugh Jackman's domination of the box office—Box Office Mojo estimates the film's worldwide gross at $158.2 million and counting—comes the rather unsurprising word that a follow-up to the origin story is already in the works.
According to Variety, the sequel, which will mark Jackman's fifth time donning the killer claws, will focus on the X-Men comic's samurai storyline, the Japanese locale setup for which is teased after the blockbuster film's end credits.
Meanwhile, the action star Oscar host is showing no signs of slowing—or being typecast—with no fewer than four other projects in the works, one of which will be a 2010 return to Broadway as the titular Houdini.
Rounding out today's star-studded castings: Ben Stiller, Christina Aguilera, Wilmer Valderrama, Peter Dinklage, Ken Watanabe and the newest Mad Man.

Julianne Hough: Footloose and Fancies Filming With Christina Aguilera
It sounds like Christina Aguilera could be getting ready for her big movie-screen close-up!
Here's what we're told is going down with our favorite "Dirrty" pop singer: Xtina is interested in possibly starring in Burlesque, a Screen Gems movie about a modern-day burlesque dancer, according to sources.
Though it's still not clear how far along talks may be and if Aguilera has even read for the part, here are the current details...
Lady Gaga Bang Gang Continues to Reign
It's been a while since we've complained about the blunt blond bangs trend, but a couple of recent developments have brought the issue to light again.
Nicole Richie is featured in the latest Black Book magazine doing her best Lady Gaga. The soon-to-be mom of two really does give it her all, even throwing in a little Beyoncé, but the whole thing just seems too copycat to really be as edgy as the mag imagined.
And then there are Christina Aguilera's new ads for luxury jeweler Stephen Webster, and this is where things get complicated. Sure, Xtina owned this look first, but once Lady Gaga took it over she made it infinitely more fierce. Which means it's now up to Christina to change her platinum fringe so she doesn't look like old news—unless the two are caught in a game of hairstyling chicken?
Of course, it's also possible the whole thing is just totally over and we're just getting anxious waiting for something new.
Christina Aguilera: Santa's Little Helper
As we raced around this weekend frantically trying to locate Wiis, Webkinz and whatnot in time for the holidays, so too was our girl Christina Aguilera.
The "Keeps Gettin' Better" singer and her hubby, Jordan Bratman, were seen picking up some last-minute items Sunday—no doubt for son Max, who's celebrating his first Christmas this year—at the Brentwood Country Mart in Brentwood, Calif.
The place was a bit of a Hollywood hot spot—Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner and daughter Violet were caught grabbing goodies there as well.

Why Do Tabs and Blogs Cover People I Hate?
Why does the media keep reporting on people we don't care about like Pete and Ashlee and anyone on The Hills?
—F. Stap
You may credit fear and laziness. That permission comes courtesy of tabloid expert Mark Pasetsky, who adds, "Editors are scared. They're scared to try new things, and they're being conservative and sticking with The Hills. The Hills has completely jumped the shark; people know now that it isn't even real. But editors just fear that readers won't buy anything else on the newsstand."

Does John Mayer (or Anyone) Need Two Cell Phones?
Why do celebrities have so many cell phones? Every time I see them in photos or on reality shows, they have a different phone or even two at once! What's the deal?

A reporter once asked the same question of an assistant to Russell Simmons, who was working two cell phones at the time. "One cell phone isn't enough to take all the calls," the assistant replied.

Xtina, LiLo and Nicole Skip Madonna for Fashion
Although Christina Aguilera was once part of the infamous Madonna-Britney kiss trio, she wasn't in the house when Brit took the stage with Madge once again Thursday night.
Instead, she was at Chateau Marmont for fashion line Dsquared2's L.A. launch party, where Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie were also hanging out. New mama Nic was even spotted eating mini burgers at the bash. Guests sipped French martinis, while LiLo drank an unidentified beverage from a wine glass.
Also at the designer party: Sophia Bush, who said an 8 a.m. breakfast with her parents the next day was what kept her from hitting the Madonna show. Sounds like a fair excuse to us.
