Which Funnyguy Should Get an Emmy?
A loser theoretical physicist, a loser songwriter, a loser middle manager, even a loser TV exec. Seems like Emmy has taken a shine to the socially awkward this year, at least when it comes to funny fellas, so which loser will go home a winner on Sunday?
Lead Actor, Comedy
- Jim Parsons, The Big Bang Theory
- Jemaine Clement, Flight of the Conchords
- Tony Shalhoub, Monk
- Steve Carell, The Office
- Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock
- Charlie Sheen, Two and a Half Men
Our own Hollywood Party Girl Cristina Gibson predicts:
"Jemaine Clement. Sure, all the guys nominated are obviously funny, but only one has a hot Kiwi accent and can write and sing ridiculously funny and clever songs."
What do you say?

Charlie Sheen the Truther Teaches Obama About 9/11
Someone has clearly been in sitcoms too long: Give him a half-hour (minus commercial breaks) and there's no problem Chuck Sheen can't solve.
The Two and a Half Men star has loosed upon the Internet "Twenty Minutes with the President," an incredible piece of fantasy journalism (or a failed treatment from his dad's West Wing days, we can't be sure) imagining a meeting between himself and President Barack Obama in which Charlie Sheen schools the ruler of the free world about the government's real role in the Sept. 11 attacks—as perceived, that is, by the actor's conspiracy theorist mind.
The very lengthy, very researched and very self-aggrandizing piece (it only takes four lines before Sheen has Obama proclaiming his love of the CBS hit) was published as a transcript of the duo's entirely fabricated encounter—and published online by controversial radio host Alex Jones yesterday. Even more controversially, when the piece first went up, Jones presented it as actually having happened.
Though you'd think it would be easy enough to set up, what with a president in the family and all.
As for the piece, well, if there's one thing Sheen does know it's how to set a dramatic scene:
Denise Richards: Dating, but No Boyfriend
Denise Richards isn't looking to have any more kids anytime soon.
"I always say, 'I used to have plans, but those went out the window because of the last three years,'" she told me yesterday while promoting the second season of her E! reality show, Denise Richards: It's Complicated (premiering June 7).
"As a single mom, I have my hands full with two daughters, but at the moment I'm good," she added. That doesn't mean she's not looking for a new man…
Charlie Sheen's Son Released From Hospital
Good—not to mention cute—things come to those who wait.
Three weeks after his birth, Charlie Sheen's son Max has been pronounced healthy enough to go home.
While twin brother Bob was allowed to leave with dad and mom Brooke shortly after his arrival on March 14, Max was forced to remain in the hospital until he bulked up a bit.
"Premature babies are often underweight," said Sheen publicist Stan Rosenfield. "Max made weight and went home."
And he did so with impeccable timing. "This is the last week of Two and a Half Men, so Charlie will be able to spend some quality time with his kids," Rosenfield added.
The twins are the first children for the 43-year-old actor and his 31-year-old wife. He also has two daughters, 4-year-old Sam and 3-year-old Lola, with ex-wife Denise Richards, and a 24-year-old daughter, Cassandra, with former girlfriend Paula Profit.
No Heart Crisis for Charlie Sheen Newborn
It is all about weight in Hollywood.
Nearly three weeks after the birth of his twin sons, one of Charlie Sheen's two half-men remains in the hospital, where the preemie will stay until he reaches a weight high enough to safely warrant his discharge.
Sheen's rep confirms to E! News that Max, who along with brother Bob was born March 14, is being kept under doctors' supervision, though not, as previously reported, due to a mystery heart ailment.
"Charlie and Brooke's infant son Max remains in the hospital, not because of a heart condition as reported, but because he has not gained the weight necessary to leave the hospital," Stan Rosenfield said.
"The weight issue is very common among infants who were born before reaching full term," quipped the Two and a Half Men star. "I know a lot of people are not fond of hospital food; I just didn't realize that they started so young."
Update
Two Li'l Men for Charlie Sheen
Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen added two little boys to his brood Saturday night.
Sheen's wife, Brooke Mueller Sheen, gave birth to healthy twin sons, Max and Bob, according to the actor's spokesman, Stan Rosenfield. Brooke had been hospitalized in February with premature contractions.
The baby boys are the couple's first children together. Charlie has three daughters: Cassandra, 24, with ex-girlfriend Paula Profitt; and Sam, 5, and Lola, 3, with his ex-wife, Dancing With the Stars contestant Denise Richards.
Charlie, 43, and Brooke, 31, married last May.

Denise Richards: DWTS, Playboy & Charlie's Twins
Denise Richards may be a contestant on the new season of Dancing With the Stars, but this certainly wasn't the first time producers came calling.
"When they asked me to do it originally, my mom was still [alive] and both my parents were like, 'You're going to get voted off right away because women hate you,' " Richards tells me as she's making breakfast for her daughters, Sam and Lola. "And I thought, 'They're right. This may not be a good time to do the show.' Granted, a lot of them still hate me, but hopefully they hate me less. Time has gone by."
Life on Mars Out of ABC Orbit; CBS Sticks With Two and a Half Men, Big Bang Theory
Life on Mars is headed to the great TV land in the sky, while Two and a Half Men and Big Bang Theory are set to remain here on Earth for quite some time.
ABC's quirky, Jason O'Mara-fronted freshman drama will complete its 17-episode order, with a final entry written to serve as a finale. According to the Hollywood Reporter, viewers will learn why O'Mara's Det. Sam Tyler traveled back in time 35 years and possibly see his return to present day.
The show, which also stars Harvey Keitel, Michael Imperioli and Gretchen Mol, was originally a British series with a limited run. ABC's version, however, was not initially intended for that glorified miniseries status.
Meanwhile, CBS is considering leaping forward in time with its two big, nuance-free comedies. The eye net is considering re-upping Charlie Sheen's Two and a Half Men for another three seasons and Big Bang Theory for another two, per the Reporter.
Men stands as the highest-rated comedy on television, while Big Bang's numbers have increased steadily and considerably since its slow start last year.
Charlie Sheen's Wife OK After Being Hospitalized
Another prenatal scare for Brooke Mueller and another possible image-buster for Charlie Sheen.
Mueller is thankfully doing fine after being hospitalized Tuesday, Sheen's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, confirms to E! News.
"Brooke Mueller Sheen was taken to a Los Angeles area hospital Tuesday morning after experiencing premature contractions, which is not uncommon at this stage of a pregnancy carrying twins," Rosenfield said in a statement. "She is expected to be released from the hospital today."
Meanwhile, a source at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas was quick to dispute an online report that Sheen was off partying in Sin City when his wife checked into the hospital.
Rise 'n' Shine: Rachel Bilson & Hayden Christensen Planning Wedding?
• Rachel Bilson reportedly told a man on her flight from Los Angeles to New York that she's "not married yet, just engaged." Presumably, the lucky guy is beau Hayden Christensen.

Brooke Mueller: Charlie Sheen "Thrilled" About Twins
Charlie Sheen's wife, Brooke Mueller, isn't ready to reveal baby names, but she does offer up a little bit about how Sheen's feelings these days.
“He’s thrilled,” says Mueller while walking to a doctor’s appointment.
Mueller's pregnancy has not been an easy one. In September, E! News broke the story that Mueller underwent emergency gall bladder surgery during her first trimester, an operation which can be risky during the early stages of pregnancy.
"She was in severe pain for a month straight," a source close to Sheen tells E! News. "Everyone was scared that it has something to do with the baby."
Good to see her smiling now.
Charlie Sheen Expecting Twins
Just like that, Charlie Sheen has nearly doubled his genetic output.
The Two and a Half Men star and his wife, Brooke, are expecting twins, his mother-in-law told People.
"Brooke and Charlie are expecting twins, and they are so excited," Moira Fiore said. "Obviously, I am floating on air."
The loose-lipped in-law and would-be grandma said that while the duo isn't absolutely certain of the babies' gender, they "think the twins are boys."
