Vampire Wars (With Bonus Twilight Round): Who's the Best Good Vampire?
Welcome to the climactic final battle of Vampire Wars! We've been pitting three structurally similar vampire-tastic TV series against each other, and now it's time to decide which show has the sexiest vampire with a heart of gold. These guys are built to kill and eat nubile young things, but in each case, a chance encounter with a very special nubile young thing causes them to instantaneously mate for life and get all heroic, violating a bunch of standard protocols of vampire-dom.
Your choices this round are David Boreanaz's Angel from Buffy and Angel, Paul Wesley's Stefan Salvatore from the breakout CW hit Vampire Diaries, and Stephen Moyer's Bill Compton from HBO's supernatural party bus True Blood.
Then, since the "good vampire" industry has been dominated of late by a certain Edward Cullen from the Twilight saga, we're offering you a bonus round, where you can decide between those first three and your boo Edward. (Plus, inspired by on a fan suggestion, we even set up a nonofficial do-over of the Best Heroine round that includes Bella Swan. We're expecting an epic Buffy-Bella throwdown in that category!)
You'll be able to cast your votes throughout Halloween weekend. If you didn't already cast your ballot for Best Heroine, Best Evil (Yet Hot) Vampire, Best Best Friend and Best Xander/Wayward Little Brother, what are you waiting for? We'll declare the final winner of Vampire Wars on Monday in the spoiler chat. (Hint: Things are looking good for a certain Slayer, so True Blood and Vampire Diaries fans need to step it up if they want a chance at winning!)
Hot Pics: Meet the Vampire Party All-Stars!
Let's get one thing straight: There's more than one smoking-hot, self-loathing vampire with mussy hair and sad eyes in this town.
No, really, there is!
Also, looks like quite a few brooding, bad-guy bloodsucker types who aren't really that bad after all. And a whole lot of tough girls—most of them in high school—lining up to offer their blood, love or a stake to the heart.
Hey, there're even a few lady vampires.
So as we launch E! Online's new Vampire Party! blog—totally dedicated to Hollywood's fave undead from the Twilight universe, True Blood, The Vampire Diaries and beyond—it's time for a tour of the big players.
We've collected the deadest and sexiest stars from the soulless class, and those who love and slay them, in our Vampire Party All-Stars gallery. Get it.

Vampire Wars Doubleheader: BFFs and Little Bros
Every center-of-the-universe TV heroine needs a great best friend to keep her grounded, and the leading ladies of our three vampire shows are no exceptions. For that matter, these girls (don't call them sidekicks!) bring their own mojo to the party. Buffy's BFF Willow (Alyson Hannigan) on Buffy the Vampire Slayer turned out to be pretty much the most powerful witch evar, Elena's best friend Bonnie (Katerina Graham) on The Vampire Diaries has second sight, and Sookie's beloved Tara (Rutina Wesley) on True Blood is so saucy and snarky, it's almost a superpower. But which bestie is best? That's what we have Vampire Wars for, silly! So you can tell us!
And in today's Vampire Wars doubleheader, we're also asking you to choose the most essential helpless mortal young'un.
Jump inside to tell us which Zeppo you prefer: Sookie's libido-driven ditzy sibling, Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten), Elena's drug-addled baby bro, Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen) or simultaneously valiant and cowardly Sunnydale native Xander Harris (Nicholas Brendon)—Xander's not technically a little brother, but he sure does give off that vibe, doesn't he?
Spoiler Chat: Is There Any Hope for Glee's Puck and Rachel?
Move over, Brad and Angie. Hollywood has a new power couple!
They might be slightly less glamorous—he's a Mohawked jock; she's a Slurpee-covered geek—but they are currently E! Online readers' most-asked-about pairing.
We're talkin' bout Puck (Mark Salling) and Rachel (Lea Michele) of course (no, not the ones from The Real World: San Francisco), about whom you Glee fans are apparently obsessing after the latest episode. And how can we blame you? After all, he evoked the magical courtship powers of Neil Diamond! And they are pretty. Darn. Cute.
So is there any hope they'll become a real couple?
Read on for the scoop on that. Plus, stop the presses! We're hearing of a One Tree Hill life-or-death shocker on the way! And want to know which dead father is making a hugely surprising comeback? Is it Lost's Christian Shephard, Gossip Girl's Bart Bass, Supernatural's John Winchester or Dexter's Harry Morgan? Read on for the answer...
Pauline in Paris: I'm in love with Puck and Rachel from Glee! I never thought they would happen, but the last episode was beyond amazing. They have the most perfect chemistry! Please tell me there's more to come!
Vampire Wars: Who's the Best Evil (Yet Hot) Vampire?
"And you’re what, shocked and disappointed? I’m evil." —Spike
Vampire Wars continues! As we explained earlier this week, we've decided that, structurally speaking, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, True Blood and The Vampire Diaries are all the same show. Girl meets soft-hearted vampire, girl enters bizarre world of the occult, girl gets mixed up in some stuff, girl hooks up with hard-bodied other vampire, wackiness (and bloody good scandal) ensues.
But which of those wicked, supersexy vamps is the best? It's time to decide who's the best evil (yet hot) TV series vampire, and you have to make the nearly impossible choice between James Marsters' bitingly funny Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Alex Skarsgård's Viking vampire Eric Northman on True Blood, and Ian Somerhalder's devilish Damon on The Vampire Diaries.
So...who do you love? Tell us in the poll below!
Vampire Wars: Who's the Best Heroine?
We had an epiphany earlier this week: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Vampire Diaries and True Blood are all the same show (structurally speaking). All three vampire series are about an impossibly attractive and moderately magical heroine from small-town America who must balance the demands of friends and family with her problematic feelings for not one, but two sexy local vampires: a broody good one with an itchy conscience and a snarky bad one who likes to, um, eat women.
So, between now and Halloween, we'll be pitting the casts of our three favorite vampire shows (sorry, Moonlight) against each other in a little fan challenge we're calling Vampire Wars. We're setting up fights between characters from BTVS, TVD and TB in five competitions over the coming days, and the best out of five wins. You have to vote early and often in all five categories if you want your show to take home the trophy.
First up, tell us which vampire-show leading lady is tops: Buffy, Elena or "Sookeh" Stackhouse...
Mysterious Maladys: Is Sarah Michelle Gellar's Pilot Dead at HBO?
Sarah Michelle Gellar's personal life is going swimmingly—her daughter Charlotte was born last month—but her career has been seemingly trapped in professional purgatory for nearly a decade now.
SMG was supposed to break out of those doldrums in 2010 with the premiere of a sophisticated new family comedy on HBO, but that prospect is now looking dim.
The pilot for the series in question, The Wonderful Maladys, about a family of eccentric geniuses not unlike the Royal Tenenbaums or J.D. Salinger's Glass family, was filmed in May, and there was every hope that after SMG wrapped her maternity leave this fall, production would begin on Buffy's return to series television.
So why did Gellar fans around the world hear the sound of brakes screeching earlier today? Here's what we know:
Rise 'n' Shine: Is Megan Fox the Next Buffy?
• As appalling as a Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie without Joss Whedon sounds, how do you feel about the latest rumor that Sarah Michelle Gellar could be passing her sharpened stakes to Megan Fox? Yeah, coffee on the computer screen. You might want to clean that up.
• Might an I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! showmance be in the works? Word is there might be little Holly Montag-Sanjaya smoochies ahead.
• After reading the above two notes, settle your stomach with David Archuleta's cover of Vanessa Carlton's "1,000 Miles." It's really good.
• People all over the Internet are calling this Freida Pinto quote a confirmation of her romance with Dev Patel. While we don't deny their coupledom, this is not a declaration of love.
• Gerard Butler thinks he's funny.
• Dear Emmy Rossum: You're just too pretty. We might have to hate you. Sorry. Love, Rise 'n' Shine

Rise 'n' Shine: Octomom Doesn't Think Much of Kate Gosselin
• Nadya Suleman finally commented on the issue we've all wanted to hear her talk about: Kate Gosselin and her family dramas. And the Octomom doesn't disappoint, ironically saying, "She needs to stop being so judgmental and stop pulling at straws for attention." Insert something about a black pot here.
• Creator Joss Whedon may have skirted the issue, but Anthony Head (aka Giles) isn't afraid to share what he thinks of a Whedon- and Sarah Michelle Gellar-free Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
• Lady Gaga says she'd like a foursome with the Jonas Brothers. We don't even want to think about how that might work.
• Somebody told Lindsay Lohan to eat. Novel idea!
• Do we really think exes Kate Bosworth and Orlando Bloom were at a party together without their respective significant others?
• Dear Evan Rachel Wood: Thank you for making out with someone other than Marilyn Manson. We hope the sesh was followed by a walk of shame to remember. Love, Rise 'n' Shine

Buffy Relaunching Without Whedon, Gellar...Regard for Fans?
Blame Robert Pattinson. And, for that matter, Captain Kirk.
What with vampires and franchise relaunches suddenly all the rage, plans for a new Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie have inevitably come to pass, with the rights holders of the franchise announcing plans for a new Sunnydale-set film.
But there is a catch.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film, which will neither be a sequel nor prequel but a relaunch, is moving ahead with absolutely no involvement from film and series mastermind Joss Whedon. It will also fail to feature TV's Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and will in fact have no connection to the long-running series—meaning Angel, Willow, Xander and Spike will also be MIA.
That sound you just heard was the Whedonverse imploding.
Should Sarah Michelle Gellar Make a Buffy Movie?
Is it a good idea for Sarah Michelle Gellar to do a Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie? There are rumors that she may be in talks to bring it to the big screen—finally! But is it a good move for her career?
—Andrea L., Tampa, Fla.
Sorry to crush and squeeze out your dreams like a Sunkist orange, my dear Floridian, but the Buffy movie rumors are a no-go.
"Not gonna happen," Joss Whedon told reporters in Hollywood last week. "Not gonna happen. Until I...make a public announcement myself that it's going to happen. Never believe anything."
That Whedon—about as sunny as the Hellmouth itself, isn't he? As for Sarah Michelle Gellar's career, I have a source who has seen the script for her next project...

Sarah Michelle Gellar Expecting?
Buffy's going to have a baby.
Sarah Michelle Gellar and husband Freddie Prinze Jr. are expecting their first child together, according to People.
The former vampire slayer and her Scooby-Doo leading man have been married for six years. Gellar's Buffy the Vampire Slayer costar Alyson Hannigan also recently gave birth to her first child with husband Alexis Denisof—another Buffy alum.
Gellar's next high-profile gig is The Wonderful Maladys, an HBO series about dysfunctional New York siblings dealing with the loss of their parents. Prinze has a pilot about off-duty superheroes, No Heroics, in the pipeline at ABC.
