Levi Johnston: Tonight Show Peeps Are the Twits

Remember when Levi Johnston twittered about getting some good weed?

Funny—he doesn't.

Despite The Tonight Show and William Shatner's hilarious reinterpretation of the Alaskan's tweets, Bristol Palin's baby daddy claims he has no account on the microblogging site.

"Levi doesn't have a Twitter," his lawyer, Rex Butler, tells E! News. "We thought it was common knowledge by now that there was an imposter Twittering in his name. Obviously, some outlets have chosen to run this anyway. A simple phone call before would have taken care of it."

But the attorney isn't too quick to point a finger at NBC. He'd like to hear back from the website before he bothers taking on a network.

"I've sent an email to Twitter because they need to step up and take care of business," Butler says. "Then we’ll deal with The Tonight Show. First thing's first."

That's probably a good thing, since Levi won't be hearing a peep (or a tweet) from NBC anytime soon.

"We will have no statement from the show or network," a rep for NBC tells E! News.

For the record, the bio for the account @LeviJohnston15 reads, "this account its not wor it will never be verified .. so stop asking." The Johnston he'll be showing Playgirl, however, will be the real deal for sure.

Kathy Griffin's Teen Date: Bristol Palin's Baby Daddy!

More from Marc Malkin

Kathy Griffin definitely gets the award for most genius date at this year's Teen Choice Awards.

The My Life on the D-List star brought Bristol Palin's baby daddy, Levi Johnston!

Griffin joked that the two have been a couple for quite some time now. "Long-distance relationships are not easy, especially when he's in his igloo and I'm in my Hollywood tower," she said as they made their way down the fake-green-grass arrivals carpet.

Johnston was a man of few words...

Rise 'n' Shine: Chuck and Blair Have a Sex Tape?!

Leighton Meester Kevin Mazur/Getty Images

•  This rumor's dirty, even for Gossip Girl. Supposedly Blair Waldorf herself, Leighton Meester, has a sex tape being shopped around. Word is it's from a few years ago (so probably doesn't involve BF Sebastian Stan) and involves some sort of foot fetish stuff. Sounds like this will require some major Chuck Bass scheming to squash. (UPDATE: The video has turned up on a site called Celeb-Hotline.)

Palin Says Letterman "Crossed the Line," Rejects "Convenient" Apology

Matt Lauer can't seem to catch a break: First, a certain couch-hopping A-lister called him glib. Now, according to Sarah Palin, he's "extremely naive."

That is, per the Alaska governor, if he believes David Letterman's explanation Wednesday night that the host's admittedly "questionable" and "borderline" jokes this week were directed at 18-year-old daughter Bristol, and not 14-year-old Willow.

Letterman quipped that the Palin family went to a Yankees game and "there was one awkward moment during the seventh-inning stretch: Her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."

That, says Palin, "crossed the line."

"I would say you and anybody else are extremely naive to believe that very convenient excuse of David Letterman's the other day," Palin said on Friday's Today show. "It took a couple of days for him to think of that excuse—no, he wasn't talking about my daughter, my 14-year-old that was with me at the game, he was talking about some other daughter."

Meanwhile, if Letterman was looking for support from Lauer, the late-night host was no doubt sorely disappointed.

Letterman (Sort of) Apologizes to Palin: "They're Just Jokes"

Guess this means the Palins are a Conan-favoring household.

David Letterman, under the watchful eyes of a suddenly and long-deserved surging home audience, offered up his best attempt at an apology last night after a self-proclaimed stupid human trick of his own failed to go down as well as he would have liked—or exactly as he intended—with the governor of Alaska.

Responding to derisive statements issued by Sarah and Todd Palin in response to Monday night's monologue and Top 10 List (the Top 10 Highlights of Sarah Palin's Trip to New York City), Letterman agreed last night that his jokes pertaining to one of the Palin daughters were "questionable," but didn't exactly take them back.

Instead, he clarified and then repeated them, to even more laughter than they earned the first time around.

"Keep in mind, I can't really defend these," he said in his more than eight-minute mea culpa to Palin, whom he deemed "an absolutely lovely woman."

"They're just jokes."
