Jennie Garth Puts the Kibosh on 90210's Grown-Up Love Triangle
90210 fans let out a collective groan (well, we did, at least) at the end of the first season when a potential new love triangle was introduced.
Kelly cannot break up 2.0's version of Cindy and Jim Walsh, Debbie and Harry Wilson, played by Lori Loughlin and Rob Estes! Granted, they don't quite get along as peachy as the original parent pair, but they still have to stay together. They just have to.
Well, you can breathe a collective sigh of relief—Jennie Garth agrees wholeheartedly.
Jennie was in the middle of promoting her fabulous work with Trident and Smiles Across America, which brings dental health care to underserved kids, when we caught up with her last week, but she was happy to give us her thoughts on the Romance That Should Not Be.
"I'm not a big fan of that storyline," she told us exclusively. "It's just bizarre and weird."
Wait until you hear where it's going...

Shannen Doherty Reveals She'll Be Back on 90210
Women of 90210, you best hold on to your men!
Shannen Doherty herself just spilled to us that her man-stealing character Brenda Walsh will be coming back to America's most famous zip code for the first-season finale of the CW's 90210.
At tonight's Race to Witch Mountain premiere in L.A., Doherty told E!'s Ashlan Gorse that Brenda will return to Beverly Hills: "You're the first people I've told. It is the finale, so you can probably expect a lot of drama."
So what will that drama be?

Tori Spelling Back in Talks With 90210
Jennie Garth's Kelly Taylor has been a fixture on the CW's 90210; Shannen Doherty's Brenda Walsh has done a few drive-bys. Even Jason Priestley is stopping by to step behind the camera.
So who's next? Sources tell me producers are actively working once more on getting Tori Spelling on screen as Donna Martin before season's end for a multiple-episode arc.
So will it happen? And what's this about a Luke Perry lookalike (gasp!) cozying up to Naomi?
Jason Priestley on Brenda Walsh's Rumored Illness: "That's Awesome!"
Oh, Brandon. Didn't your mama teach you not to sound too excited when someone mentions your sister might be sick?
Apparently not, because Jason Priestley said this when asked today about the unconfirmed (and possibly totally untrue!) rumors that his former onscreen sister Brenda Walsh (Shannen Doherty) might have a serious and possibly fatal health issue on the CW's 90210:
Jennie Garth Says No to CW's Melrose Place
Not gonna happen.
That's what Jennie Garth tells us of the possibility that she may take part in the just-announced Melrose Place remake that the CW network is planning.
Refresher course: Garth, who's now starring in the See-Dub's 90210 redo, was the "L.C." of Melrose Place back in the day—the leading lady who moved viewers from the original show (Beverly Hills, 90210) to the spinoff (Melrose).
So why not this time?
Jennie Garth Joins CW's 90210 Spinoff
You gotta love the loyalty! Jennie Garth, who was the Queen B of her day back on the original Beverly Hills, 90210 and stayed with the series for its entire run, is officially on board for the spinoff.
According to CBS Paramount, which produces the series for the CW network, "Garth will make special guest appearances as her original character, Kelly Taylor, a guidance counselor at her alma mater, West Bev High, where our new characters attend high school."
In an industry where divas with 'tudes so often bite the hands that fed/feed them, it's just plain nice to see that Jennie is still down with the franchise that made her famous. (Dare we hope for a What I Like About You spinoff next? I miss my Jennie-Amanda Bynes tag team!)
Of course, Jennie's all grown up, and does have three kids of her own now, so franchise loyalty aside, the paycheck is no doubt appreciated. (She raises the rugrats with her man, Peter Facinelli, who was himself just cast in a pilot, Showtime's comedy about nurses led by Edie Falco.)
What do you guys think? Is it a good plan? And whatever happened to that fashion-industry thing Kelly was doing with Donna? Post your thoughts in the comments!
Nooooooo! (Part Two): Is Reaper a Goner?
Honestly, I'm not sure I can take much more of this.
After recent casting news pointed to the cancellation of this season's best new comedy, the CW's Aliens in America, I've just received word that Jessica Stroup of Reaper has been cast on the new 90210 pilot.
The good news? She's totally not the girl I thought she was: Andi (Missy Peregrym), the show's leading lady, who looks like this...
But rather Cady...aka the devil's spawn and our main man Sam's (Bret Harrison) latest love-conquest-gone-bad, who looks like this...
Why is this good news? Because Jessica is not a series regular like Missy, and so far none of the core cast of Reaper have been signed on to other series, as far as I've seen.
So here's my desperate, whiny, plea to the CW: Pleeeeease keep Reaper around. That show has become so outstanding and funny and smart in recent episodes, I might die a little if it does. And I know I'm not alone—just look at the bajillions of fan comments below. (Ahem. Yes, that is the cue for you who are reading this to profess your Reaper love below!)
As for Jessica's role on 90210, she'll play Silver, a good friend of Annie's (Shenae Grimes) who produces the YouTube type video series Answers to Life's Inane Questions Answered by a 15-Year-Old in a Bikini.
Here's one of the noninane variety: What can we Reaper fans do to save this series?
Hilary Duff Not Bound for 90210
Just an update on the news we broke last week that Hilary Duff was offered a role on the Beverly Hills, 90210 remake for the CW.
Sources close to the show tell me that Duff has passed on the role of Annie Mills, and it has been given to Shenae Grimes (Degrassi: The Next Generation). Lori Loughlin will play her mom and they will be a fresh arrival to the famous zip code from Kansas.
According to sources, Duff turned down the 90210 offer because she is looking for projects that are outside of the teen genre in order to expand her image.

Exclusive! Hilary Duff to Star in New 90210?
Step aside, Shannen Doherty. Hilary Duff just might be the new face of Beverly Hills, 90210.
Sources connected to the series tell me exclusively that producers for the CW's 90210 remake have reached out to Hilary to offer her a starring role in the series.
No word yet on whether she is interested in the role, and at press time, we have not received comment from reps for the CW or Hilary.
According to sources, Hilary's potential character is that of Annie Mills. As I reported last month, Annie is a Beverly Hills High student who is into theater acting, just like her predecessor. But instead of Color Me Badd, she’s listening to emo bands. She yearns to fit in with the alternative crowd and leans a lot on her adopted brother, Dixon, too.
She likes to be on stage, and she's cute as a button...sounds like a perfect match for Hilary, no? Comment below...
CW Source: Jennie Garth Not Signed on to 90210 Pilot
Just a quick 9-0 update: Despite the buzz flying around today that Jennie Garth could be resurrecting her role on the new Beverly Hills, 90210 remake, sources inside the CW network tell me that Garth is not signed on to the project.
As we reported a couple of weeks back, producer Rob Thomas had his heart set on making one Miss Kelly Taylor part of the new project, most likely as the new fashion-design teacher at Beverly Hills High. However, as R.T. confirmed to us this week, he's also letting the CW find new writers to take a second pass at the 90210 pilot script (though he will still be very much involved in the series). And CW sources tell me Garth will not be "seriously approached" about being cast on the series until the new script is in order and the concept is finalized.
Speculation of Garth's casting grew today when it was revealed she has backed out of a pilot for next season called My Best Friend's Girl.
So her dance card is free. However, show insiders say they haven't yet received any word of whether resurrecting her iconic role is something Jennie will want to do. So hang tight and say your Kelly Taylor prayers!
Exclusive: Rob Thomas Confirms He's Making Room for New 90210 Writers
What could be better than the news of a 9-0 spin off? Hearing that talented Veronica Mars boss Rob Thomas would be the main man behind the new edition, of course! But sadly, inside sources are now saying that Rob is stepping aside in order to focus on his other two pilots, both for ABC. Word is he’ll stay on to consult, but the CW is currently looking for a new show runner to helm the series.
I checked in with Rob earlier today and he confirmed to me that the network is looking for another writer to take a stab at the 90210 pilot script: "I'd do the additional pass, but I'm swamped with the two other projects and ABC has me in first position."
A source close to the spin-off says that Rob is still committed to the show, and was in casting sessions as late as Friday. However, another insider tells me that production of the series has now been pushed back to summer, and won't begin until a new head honcho has been named.
As for Mr. Thomas' two projects at ABC, a remake of his 1998 series Cupid and a dramedy about a family of theives, Rob tells me the possibility of former Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell signing on to star in one of them looks slim, even though she recently told me there is talk of this. Says Rob, "It's not going to happen. Kristen wants to pursue movie interests, though we'd love to work with each other again."
So... you're saying there's a chance?!
